Liberty passes second reading of city budget

LIBERTY — The City of Liberty gave second reading of its 2014-15 budget with a 7-0 vote during Monday night’s City Council meeting.

Mayor Eric Boughman credited hard work by staff by city clerk Erin Lewis as being key in putting the budget together. He was also complimentary of former mayor Michael Sheriff for his contributions toward putting the budget together.

The city will sponsor the first “Love My Liberty” festival July 5 at the old high school stadium. Scheduled guests include representatives from 3-Count Professional wrestling.

The city participated in the “Ride For Wounded Warriors” on Memorial Day, raising almost $600 for the charity.

This year’s “Fall for Liberty” festival will be held Saturday. Oct. 25. Updates will be posted on the city’s website, www.libertysc.com.
