Barbara Campbell
Easley — Barbara Jean Cothran Campbell, 85, wife of the late James Calvin Campbell, died Aug. 28, 2014 at NHC-Greenville, in Greer.
Born in Oconee County, to the late Duffy and Alma Powell Cothran, Barbara graduated from Parker High School and retired from Bell South, where she began working as an operator and later as a customer service representative. She was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church where she was very active in the choir and taught Sunday school for many years.
She is survived by two sons, James “Jim” C. Campbell, Jr. (Kathy) and John R. Campbell, both of Easley; a daughter, Pat Roper (Benny) of Easley; a sister, Hazel Fair of Greenville; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Maurice Cothran and J.B. Cothran; and four sisters, Evelyn Brannon, Helen Scott, Jewel Rogers and Francis Johnson.
Graveside services were 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, in Pickens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brushy Creek Baptist Church Choir Fund, 100 Clay Street, Easley, SC 29642.

Ralph Nelson Hendrix
Easley — Mr. Ralph Nelson “Coon” Hendrix, 80, husband of Inez Dickard Hendrix, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014 at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Arthur “Ott” Hendrix, Sr. and Alberta Ramey Hendrix, Mr. Hendrix worked with Woodside Mills of Easley for 43 years and later retired from the White Horse Mill Plant of JP Stevens. He was a member of Geer Memorial Baptist Church, and a U.S. Navy veteran having served in the Korean War.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of the home, are a son, Calvin Andrew “Andy” Sheridan (Susan) of Easley; a granddaughter, Ashley Sheridan; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hendrix was predeceased two brothers, Furman Hendrix and Arthur Hendrix, Jr.; and a sister, JoAnne McCall.
Funeral services were 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with the Rev. Robert Dickard and the Rev. Dr. Wayne Dickard officiating. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park with military honors.

Geraldine W. Finley
Easley — Mrs. Geraldine Weaver Finley, 80, wife of Bruce Tinsley Finley, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014 at her home.
Born in Easley, a daughter of the late Theron Randell and Nannie Lou Kennemore Weaver, Mrs. Finley retired in 1995 from Alice Manufacturing Company and was a member of Cedar Rock Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 62 years, are two sons, Michael Bruce Finley (Cindy), and Gregory Tinsley Finley (Judy), all of Easley; one daughter, Pamela Jean Nicholls of Greenville; one sister, Doris Hollis of Easley; three grandchildren, Deanna and April Finley, and Robbie Nicholls; and one great-grandchild, Daniel Nicholls.
Funeral services were 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with the Rev. Wayne Garmon officiating. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Interim Healthcare Hospice, and special nurses, Jenny, Glenda, and Heather for the love, care, and friendships they provided to Mrs. Finley.

Lillian Stewart
Pickens — Lillian Chapman Stewart, 82, widow of Ansel Lee Stewart, Sr., died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014.
Mrs. Stewart was born in Salem, a daughter of the late Fields Richard and Fannie Mae Bryant Chapman. She was a homemaker and a member of Boone’s Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie Gilstrap (Mackey) of Pickens, her son, Brian Stewart of Sunset, grandchildren, Lovetta Kennedy, Jason Stewart (Tiffany), Josh Stewart, Dusty Stewart, and Tanner Stewart, four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also surviving are brothers, Billy Chapman of Pickens, and Carl Chapman of Anderson and two very special friends, Cathy Brown and Mary Powell.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by a son, Ansel Lee Stewart, Jr., grandson, Johnathan Gilstrap, brothers & sisters, Newman Chapman, Mary Chapman, Marion Chapman, Hubert Chapman, and Genelle Rochester.
A graveside service was 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30 at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

Mary Wheeler Vinson
Norris — Mary Wheeler Vinson, 96, of 123 N. Norris Drive, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014 at her residence.
Born in Habersham County, Ga., she was the widow of Allie Effird Vinson, Sr. and a daughter of the late John George and Texie Anna Philyear Wheeler. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was retired from Woodside mills and was of the Christian faith.
Surviving are two daughters, Anna Lancaster of Spartanburg and Martha Coley of Rock Hill; three sons, Jessie W. “Dub” Vinson of Easley, John T. Vinson of Pelzer, and Lester Dean Vinson of the home; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by two sons, Allie Effird Vinson, Jr. and Virgil P. Vinson; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Vinson were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial was at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Furman Milford Lark
Pickens — Milford Lark, 92, husband of Dora Stewart Lark died Monday, Sept. 1, 2014 at his home.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late James Noah Lark and Emily Elizabeth Garett Lark Winchester, he was retired from Duke Power Company, a member of Pickens First Baptist Church, the Baracca Sunday School Class, Keowee #79 A. M. F. and Hejaz Temple of the Shrine. Mr. Lark was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army. While serving in the Army, he was awarded a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Jubilee of Liberty for participating in the Invasion of Normandy.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years of the home, two sons; James Milford Lark (Bonnie), Samuel S. Lark (Melody) all of Pickens, a brother; R. Earl Lark of Anderson, and two grandchildren; Lindsay Rose Lark Jackman (Chris) of Greenville and Ashley Melissa Lark Heath (Daniel) of Wilson, N.C., and one great grandchild; Malachi Samuel Heath of Wilson, N.C.
Milford was predeceased by his parents and three brothers; James Dewey Lark, William Hubert Lark and Fred Lark.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3 at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home. The burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
The family will be at the home.
