CENTRAL — Lawrence Chapel United Methodist Church will host a Native American Worship service at the 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services on April 10.

The ‘Keepers of the Word’, an Inter-Tribal Drum team, from St. George, will be leading an authentic native worship service. The speaker that Sunday will be Mrs. Cathy Nelson of Ojibwa heritage. The Drum Team members are of various tribal heritages including: Ojibwa, Cherokee, Choctaw, Creek, and Wassamasaw. 

The church is expecting 10-12 members of the drum team to attend on April 10. After the 8:15 a.m. service, a free breakfast will be held in the church fellowship hall. After the 10:30 a.m. service, a covered dish picnic is planned. Lawrence Chapel United Methodist Church is located at 2101 Six Mile Highway in Central.
