A birthday dance to remember

House calls made by doctors are an old practice that has been going away over the last few decades, but there are a few doctors that still offer that special service. It becomes an even more special service if the doctor makes a house call to give a lady a dance for her 99th birthday. That’s just what happened for Mrs. Vivian Weber of Pickens on August 14. Mrs. Weber is a hospice patient of Hospice Care of SC and Dr. Daniel Dahlhausen. Dr Dahlhausen had promised her a dance for her 100th birthday, but decided he would like a “practice” dance a year early. Surrounded by her extended family and her caregivers from Hospice Care of SC, she received her surprise dance and a birthday party. She was both surprised and thrilled. Vivian is the wife of the late Tom Weber. She and Tom were married for more than 60 years and enjoyed many years of traveling and fishing together. They had four children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
