Many gathered Oct. 1 to celebrate $461 raised at the one day “A Cup of College” event hosted by Solid Grounds Coffee Shop in Liberty to benefit the Liberty Community Scholarship. The event had huge support, including from Pickens County administrator Ken Roper, Liberty school leaders, principal Josh Oxendine, Angie Burgess, principal Lowell Haynes, vice principal Jaime Few, Kelly Gilstrap, principal Jessica Patterson, vice principal Joy Ellison, principal Lisa Cassidy, Liberty Mayor Brian Petersen, Liberty city administrator Bruce Evilsizer, city treasurer Lisa Smith, and other city and area businesses.
