Azaleas ready to bloom
The Pickens Azalea Festival Committee is working hard to get everything in place for another huge Azalea Festival in downtown Pickens on April 20-21. The festivities will get started on Friday night with the annual cruise-in featuring some of the hottest rides from around the area and the wonderful sounds of the Rock and Roll Reunion and Threshold. The committee is taking advantage of Pickens’ beautiful downtown amphitheater with entertainment being held in the center of historic Pickens. The downtown amphitheater, which was designed for musical events such as this, will offer spacious seating. Assistance will be available for anyone having trouble walking to the venue. The fun will continue on Saturday with an entertainment schedule loaded with talent, including the 7 Bridges Band, Brandon Rainwater and more. The festival will offer a variety of crafts and food, along with a large selection of carnival rides Friday, April 20, and all day Saturday, April 21.
