Baptist Easley announces 2011 Directors of the Year
EASLEY — During Hospital Week 2011, Baptist Easley CEO Roddey E. Gettys, III, announced Directors, Manger, Supervisor, and Employee of the year. Susan Shugart, Director of Business Development, and Gail VanEtten, Director of Environmental Services, were named Directors of the Year.
“Sue is relatively new to our Team Leader structure, but she has embraced and supported how we manage at Baptist Easley,” Gettys said. “She has made many contributions, not only in her own department but also in many other areas as well, through her expertise and previous work experience. She is energetic and wants to make a difference. She will do whatever it takes to ensure a positive work environment inside the hospital and in our physician practices.”
Shugart has been with Baptist Easley since 2007.
“Gail is a quiet, unassuming leader who is passionate about the success of her people, the work they do, and the overall results of her department,” he said. “She never asks anyone to do anything she wouldn’t do, including working weekends and various shifts. She has been instrumental in assisting her employees to develop additional skills and has led her department to receive national recognition for Excellence in Hospital Environmental Services. A regulatory surveyor once commented that ours was the ‘cleanest hospital his team had ever surveyed.’”
VanEtten has been with the hospital six years.
Patti Davis was named Manager of the Year. Davis is Communications Manager and a 10-year Baptist Easley employee.
Angelee Tate, Supervisor, Sterile Processing and Surgical Supply, is Supervisor of the Year. Tate was initially hired at the hospital in 1982.
Kim Porter, RN, is Employee of the Year. Porter, a nurse in Cardiac Rehab, was first hired at Baptist Easley in 1995.
