Baptist Easley unveils renovated Café 200
EASLEY — Under renovation for several months, the Baptist Easley Hospital cafeteria reopened to full service on June 17 and celebrated with a grand opening ceremony on June 23.
The cafeteria, named Café 200, has a new look, along with healthy, fresh, and made-from-scratch food items. Unidine Healthcare Culinary Group operates the hospital’s food service program.
Baptist Easley chose Unidine as its culinary partner because of Unidine’s philosophy of creating a dining program to help guide and encourage healthier food and lifestyle choices. The OHSOGOOD menu options at the cafeteria contain a combination of health-promoting nutrients and healthy portions for weight management that are beneficial for disease prevention. The OHSOGOOD nutritional guidelines are based on the recommendations from the 2010 Dietary Guidelines and the Fresh Food Pledge.
Unidine’s Hydrate for Health program uses dispensers at stations with signage explaining the benefits of drinking water. The water is infused with fresh fruit, vegetables or herbs and the flavor changes daily. Four stations are available in the hospital.
Café 200 is open to the public for breakfast from 7-9:30 a.m., lunch from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. and dinner from 4-7 p.m.
