Behind Hamilton’s career night, Lions handle Blazers

CENTRAL — The Daniel Lions entered Friday night facing arguably their toughest challenge of the season on Hall of Fame Night against the Ridge View Blazers.
But after a back-and-forth affair early, the Lions pulled away in the second half to finish their non-conference slate 4-0.
The Blazers entered the game boasting a stout defense, but that didn’t stop the Lions’ passing attack. Daniel quarterback Tyler Venables finished the night throwing for 362 yards. However, those gaudy numbers were outshone by a strong performance from speedy senior receiver Hack Hamilton. Hamilton had seven catches for 206 yards and scored four touchdowns, as he constantly beat the Blazers’ coverage.
“Hack is doing what we knew he could do all along,” Daniel coach Jeff Fruster said. “He’s a gifted speedster and he uses it to his advantage.”
“This all comes from heart and determination,” Hamilton added. “My team boosts me up every day, and we really push each other.”
