PICKENS — A fundraiser walk is scheduled for Sunday, April 28, to benefit Wayne Gilstrap, a local resident with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.

Gilstrap was diagnosed with the disease three years ago but has been in the hospital since hte beginning of February with complications resulting in a series of operations.

Preregistration for the fundraiser walk, scheduled to take place in Pickens, will cost $15 and will include a T-shirt.

T.C. Bearies in Easley is currently taking preregistrations, in cash, and the deadline is April 6.

Registration will also be available on the day of the event for $15, while shirts will be sold separately for $10.

Sponsorships are also available for the back of the shirt starting at $100.

All proceeds from the event will go to Gilstrap and his wife Cathy.
