• Upstate Food Co-op to host open house
The Upstate Food Co-op (UFC) is holding an open house on May 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 137 S. Main St. in Six Mile. As the only food co-op in Upstate SC, the UCF is celebrating 46 years in business and the second year of our organic food garden.
Be sure to stop by the co-op for a free chocolate bar, samples bag, healthy food and beverage sample tastings, door prizes, a walk through the organic garden, free trial memberships, and sign up for the gift basket drawings. The UFC event will be held in conjunction with the 2024 Issaqueena Festival.

• AnMed Rhythm Fest moved to May 19
Connect Powdersville as annouced the AnMed Rhythm on the River music festival will be now be held on one May 19. The Event was set for last Saturday, but the the threat of severe weather conditions, including lightning.
The festival will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. The new date allows the group to deliver a safe, exceptional and memorable event of sponsors, vendors, and attendees expect and deserve.

American Legion Post 52 officials invite all military veterans to join them in Easley. Meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Post building at 310 Pope Field Road in Easley.

PIEDMONT — Music from talented bands, a kids zone experience for the entire family, more than 15 food trucks and 30 craft vendors will bring out the community to AnMed Rhythm on the River May 4 at Dolly Cooper Park in Powdersville.
The action will run from noon-8 p.m. on the bank of the Saluda River. Admission is free.

• GGWC to host ‘Day of Prayer’ event
There will be a National Day of Prayer event at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday, May 2, at Golden Grove Wesleyan Church, located at 7997 Moorefield Memorial Highway in Liberty.
The event will begin in the church sanctuary, with the option of moving to various prayer stations in the church during the prayer hour. Emphasis will be on this year’s theme, “Lift Up the Word. Light Up the World.” and the Scripture theme from 2 Samuel 22:29-31. All
Amazing Shake Finals
Pickens Middle School is thrilled to announce that five Sparks (students at PMS) attended the Global Amazing Shake in Atlanta, Ga., recently. Although they did not have anyone to qualify for the Top 50, they did have a Spark receive a medal for showing the most spirit. PMS is super excited about their Sparks’ skills that were displayed during the event. Pictured are Ethan Bishop, Wesson Griffin, Addison Norris, Aubrey Beeco and Ella Tetor.

The Greater Pickens Chamber of Commerce recently announced their April Member of the Month as The Sandwich Shop, inside the Market at the Mill located at 225 Pumpkintown Highway, Warehouse #2 in Pickens. • Dacusville Lions to host monthly bingo
The Dacusville Lions Club will be hosting Bingo night on the third Thursday of each month at the Lions Building in Dacusville, located at 1384 Thomas Mill Road. The next Bingo session will be Thursday, April 18.
There are set to be 10 games beginning at 7 p.m., and proceeds will go toward funding community events and other community needs. The games should conclude around 9 p.m.
