ROBERT ALEC SWAYNGHAM

PICKENS — Robert Alec Swayngham, 54, departed this earthly life for his heavenly home on Monday, Nov. 2, 2020, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He attended The Crossing Church in Chugiak, Alaska.

Alec was born Dec. 31, 1965 to Joel and Wanda Swayngham. Alec is the beloved husband of his devoted wife, Barbara Bebout Swayngham, who cared for him tirelessly throughout his illness. He adored Barbara, his sweetie, and doted on his dogs, EP and Smitty. Alec’s gentle nature and corny sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. He was a uniquely kind and longsuffering person, who was loved by all.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his stepson, Brent Riddle of Pickens; two stepdaughters, Tracy Lovelace of Hillsboro, Ore., and Mandy Riddle of Suwanee, Ga.; a granddaughter, Ashlyn Lovelace; his brother, Travis

STANLEY ROY GREEN

PICKENS — Mr. Stanley Roy Green, 90, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020.

Mr. Green was born in Woodstock, Conn., and was the son of the late Ralph Dexter Green and Ina Elizabeth Buell Green. He was the loving husband of the late Margaret Doreen Jones Green for 39 years, and then loving husband of the late Lois Demming Green for 21 years.

Mr. Green was retired from the United States Air Force and also from Connecticut’s Department of Motor Vehicles. He was a member of Volusia Baptist Church in Deltona, Fla., and the chaplain at the American Legion in Deltona, Fla. Mr. Green was a jokester and loved to tell stories. He was a prolific painter, with hundreds of acrylics on wood to his credit. He came from a large family who loved each other, and he loved them. He was a man who was known for his love of laughter.

Survivors include his children, Susan Green of Pickens, Stephen Green (Nancy) of Las Vegas, Nev., Jeanne Otey (Sidney W.) of Pickens, Margie Green of Cope, Michael Green (Regina) of Neeses and James Green of Deltona, Fla.; 16 loving grandchildren and 16 additional loving and precious great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Olive Bineau of Columbus, Ohio, and Mabel Green of Pomfret, Conn.; and

SYBIL JEAN NICHOLS

LIBERTY — Sybil Jean Nichols, 69, wife of the late Arvel Kenneth Nichols, of 414 Odell Road, Liberty, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020, at her home.

A native of North Carolina, Mrs. Nichols was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ella Mae Kinsey Morgan. She was a member of Unity and Love Worship Center.

Mrs. Nichols is survived by her sons, William Nichols of Liberty and Billy Nichols (Kassie) of Seneca; daughters, Brittany Nichols and Morgan Nichols, both of Liberty; brothers, Tony Morgan (Cindy) of Pickens and Jim Morgan (Sheila) of Easley; sisters, Deborah Cheshire (Roy) of Hartwell, Ga., and Kathy Campbell of Seneca; grandchildren, Yyzabellahh Thomas, Marlee Nichols, Peyton Nichols, Blayze Howard and Maddux Howard; and a special niece, Shannon Hardenbrook.

DALLAS DALE BALL

PICKENS — Dallas Dale Ball, 85, husband to Nellie Ruth Hare Ball, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020.

Born on Dec. 1, 1934, Mr. Ball was the son of the late James Daniel Ball and Julia Amanda Brawley Ball.

A United States Navy veteran, Dallas achieved the rank of Ccommander and served as a JAG officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve’s Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps. He was a graduate of the University of Maryland and obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of South Carolina.

Mr. Ball was a member of the South Carolina Bar and had a distinguished career as an attorney for more than 50 years. A working man’s lawyer, he fought for the people. He practiced

JOHN MARSHALL HOLLOWAY

EASLEY — Mr. John Marshall Holloway, 85, husband of the late Betty Jean Bowens Holloway, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020.

Born in Easley, he was a son of the late Ida Mae Robinson. Mr. Holloway worked at the Easley hospital for many years and later worked with the Easley Recreation Department. Many also knew him from the work he did at the flea markets selling Avon.

Mr. Holloway loved sports and he loved people. Anyone who knew him knows what a kind and gentle spirit he was. He will be greatly missed by all of his family friends.

Surviving are a son, George Davis of Liberty; and numerous loving family and friends.

In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Holloway was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Jean Holloway Robinson.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

EASLEY — Mrs. Ruth Adelle James McGuire, 89, loving wife of Robert “Bob” McGuire, of Easley, passed away Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020, at her residence.

Mrs. McGuire was born in Liberty on May 19, 1931, to the late Raymond and Estelle Batson James. She retired from Sears Corporation as an appliance salesperson and was a very active member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church of Easley, where she taught preschool for 46 years.

LIBERTY — Howard Lee Spivey, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020.

Mr. Spivey was born in Polk County, N.C., and was the son of the late Oberian Spivey and Pearlie Searcy Spivey and loving husband for 60 years to Avis Wall Spivey.

Mr. Spivey was of the Baptist faith and attended when he could Potters Clay Fellowship. He was a lover of all animals. He carried dog and cat food with him always, just to feed the strays. He would say that taking care of the strays was what led him to be successful. His first job was with Reeves Constructions, and that brought him to this area. He moved on to being a business owner

Born March 7, 1936 in Louisville, Ky., Reba was the daughter of the late Charles Edwin Cissell and Eliza Katherine Felts Cissell. She was married to Henry (Kim) Kimmons for 49 years until his death in March 2010.

ERVIN MCGILL BREZEALE SR.

PICKENS — Ervin McGill Brezeale Sr., 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his daughter’s home to be with the Lord on Monday morning, Aug. 31, 2020.

Born on Jan. 14, 1929, in Pickens County, he was the son of the late George Ervin and Cora Jane Brezeale of Six Mile. He drove a truck for most of his life along with Pony Express. He loved gardening and had a green thumb and always had a beautiful yard with lots of beautiful flowers. For one third of his life, Mac lived in Charlotte, N.C., where he and his wife, Lucille Daves Brezeale, grew their home and family of six kids
