Frances Turner Wimpey
PICKENS — Mrs. Frances Turner Wimpey, 91, of Pickens and widow of the late Grady Horace Wimpey, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.
Born on Sept. 27, 1926, in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Elford and Pearl Scruggs Turner. She was a member of Three and Twenty Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and quilting. Mrs. Wimpey was a caring person with a sense of humor. She worked as a private care nurse’s aide for several years and loved her family.
Surviving are her six children, Carolyn Simmons, Tommy G. Wimpey

Jasper H. “Bud” Crowe
EASLEY — Bud Crowe, 85, husband of the late Effie Crowe, passed from this life Monday, Sept. 10, 2018.
Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Lonie and Vera Roper Crowe. Bud was retired with Southeastern Freight Lines, was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include a daughter, Toni (Jim) Johnson of Easley; a son, Rocky (Sandy) Crowe of Sunset; grandchildren, Tara (Michael) Looper, Jamy Johnson, Ryan (Jessica) Crowe and Kayla (Joey) Barnett; great-grandchildren, Austin, Aaron, and Alaya Looper, Breelyn and Aslyn Johnson, Addison and Paisley Crowe and Logan Barnett; brothers, Jessie Crowe and Tom Crowe; and sisters, Miriam Lyles, Fannie Belle Mauldin, and Sara Mae Redding.
Bud was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Effie, and a great-grandson, Roper Crowe.
The funeral service was held Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, in the chapel ofMountain View Funeral Home, with burial following at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
Mountain View Funeral Home is serving the Crowe family.

EASLEY — Alfred Burgess Robinson, 89, passed away Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, in Easley.
Born in Easley on Nov. 30, 1928, he was a son of the late William Alexander and Mary Burgess Robinson. An Eagle Scout in Troop 37, Mr.

JODY LEVI BLACK
EASLEY — Mr. Jody Levi Black, 47, husband of Shelly Lewis Black, went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, Sept. 3, 2018.
It is with great sadness that the family of Jody Black announces his passing on Labor Day after an accidental drowning on Lake Keowee. Jody was a loving, devoted husband, father, son, brother and Pop. His pride and adoration for his family was easily seen and felt. To be his friend was to understand the very meaning of loyalty and selflessness.
Born in Pickens County, he was a son of Ronnie Levi and Mary Elizabeth Youngblood Black of McCormick. Mr. Black was a 1990 graduate of Easley High School and was a technician with L&R Fork Lift Maintenance.
Jody loved his family with everything he had. He experienced life to the fullest through his love for hunting and fishing. Numerous trips to a mountain stream or right down the road on the lake created family memories that some people only dream of. All of these experiences and examples of love in his life, though, pale in comparison to the love he found this year on Mother’s Day weekend, when he experienced the fullness of

LIBERTY — Grady Franklin Cartee, 93, of 527 Campground Road, widower of Mildred Waldrop Cartee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, at his home
Born in Liberty, he was a son of the late Ralph and Nicie Gantt Cartee. He graduated from Liberty High School and later Tri-County Technical College.
Mr. Cartee was retired from Alice Manufacturing with 42 years of service. Following retirement, he loved traveling, gardening and most of all loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He was a faithful member of Rice’s Creek Baptist Church, where served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher.
Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Cartee of Liberty, and Annie Nell “Anne” Medlin (Joe) of Southport, N.C.; a son, Kimper Cartee (Reba) of Clemson; a brother, Jim Cartee of Easley; six grandchildren, Shandi Sellers, Joseph Medlin, Jeremy Price, Jennifer Earwaker, Todd Cartee and Rebecca C. Stewart; and 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Smith and Nell Jean Burns, and three brothers, Roy, Billy and Lloyd Cartee.

SIX MILE — George Morris Keasler, 80, of Six Mile, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.
Born on March 25, 1938, he was the son of the late Inez Winchester and George W. Keasler Sr.
Morris was a graduate of Georgia State University where he received his MBA. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Signal Corp. He was retired from Florence Darlington Technical College, where he was the vice president for economic development and continuing education. Morris was a member of the Falcon’s Lair Golf Club in Walhalla, the Florence Rotary Club and Six Mile Baptist Church.

LIBERTY — William Allen “Butch” Waldrop, 65, of 110 Byrnes St., died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Clyde and Betty Carver Waldrop. Butch enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. He was a member of Liberty Church of God of Prophecy.

CLEMSON — Mary Mildred Hughes Link, 87, widow of J.W. Link, passed away, Monday, July 30, 2018, surrounded by her family at Clemson Downs.
Born in Gray Court, she was a daughter of the late John Gary and Annie Mae Greenway Hughes. She was a graduate of the Anderson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was a career nurse and retired from Redfern Health Center at Clemson University. Mildred loved to cross stitch, cook for her family, read and take family vacations at the beach.

J. CURTIS HUNTER
LIBERTY — John Curtis Hunter Jr, 77, of Liberty, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at the Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.
A native of Central, he was preceded in death by his parents, John Curtis and Sarah Frances “Fannie” Satterfield Hunter.
Curtis, known as “dozerman,” worked in construction all of his working life and was known for his skill working with bulldozers. He and his wife loved bowling and traveling in the mountains. He attended Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.
There is far too little space and words to describe the love and joy he brought to so many lives. He will be greatly missed, but Heaven is not too far away!
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Catherine Loretta Hunter; daughter, Cathy Lynn Gerlach; two grandchildren, Catherine S. Kelley (Kyle) and

BETTY JANE BRADFORD-LAWSON
EASLEY — Betty Jane Bradford-Lawson, of Easley, was born on April 27, 1933, in Washington, D.C., and she went home to be with her lord and savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at her home.
She completed her education with a GED, and she was a manager in the food service industry for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, doing word search puzzles and playing on her computer, and she loved caring for her pets and her flowers. Most importantly, Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children and her grandchildren.
She moved to Easley from Altoona, Pa., in 2003 and attended Greer Memorial Baptist Church whenever she was able to.
Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Quintie Redmon; her husbands, Lionel Bradford and Benjamin Lawson; her son, Robert Bradford; her daughter, Lynn Marie Hoption; her grandson, Stanley Bradford; and her
