Ola Vessie Jones Porter

SIX MILE ­— Mrs. Ola Vessie Jones Porter, 83, of Six Mile, passed away on Saturday Nov. 11, 2017, while at home with her loving family by her side.

Born on Nov. 5, 1934, in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late James Lowell and Flossie Lou Roper Jones. She was a life-long resident of Pickens County and a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. Mrs. Porter earned her Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Lander College in 1957. EASLEY — Jewel Christine “Christie” Head, 62, passed away Friday, Nov. 3, 2017.

Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Charles L. and Vivian Alexander Seay, Christie retired from Michelin with 25 years of service and was a member of 5 Point Fellowship. Christie loved spending time with her grandson, Kayne, who was the apple of her eye.

Rebecca “Becky” Atkinson

CLEMSON — Rebecca Elizabeth “Becky” Atkinson, 69, daughter of the late Aldrich A. and Catherine Dubose Atkinson, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, at AnMed Health.

Becky was born in Anderson and raised in the Clemson area. She was a 1968 graduate of D.W. Daniel High School and earned an associate degree in nursing at Clemson University and was a Registerd Nurse for more than 39 years at AnMed Health. She loved Clemson football and loved being with family.

Surviving are brothers, Larry Atkinson of Clemson, Aldrich A. Atkinson Jr. (Sandra Lee) of Panama City, Fla., and Joseph Johnson Atkinson (Sandra) and Robert Atkinson, all of Seneca; five nieces and nephews; and a number of great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Catherine Belle Atkinson.

There will be a private family committal service to be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Robert Shelton Shore

LIBERTY — Robert Shelton Shore, 65, husband of Karin Groce Shore, went to be with the Lord, Oct. 25, 2017.

Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Carl Eugene (Gene) and Wilma Shirley Shore.

A member of First Baptist Liberty, he worked more than 24 years at Platt Saco Lowell, and also with his friends at Carolina Fireworks. Bobby had a love of sports, which was apparent by his many years watching his children compete. He also lived for his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of 45 years, he is survived by two sons, Robert Shore Jr. (Andrea) and Michael Shore; grandchildren Jaiden, Mirielle and Jameson; a brother, Gene Shore (Lynn); and loving nephews and nieces.

Bobby was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Paula Patterson.

Corey Blake Rabb

SIMPSONVILLE — Corey Blake Rabb, 20, of 623 Fairview Lake Way, Simpsonville, went to be with his Lord and Saviour, Friday, Oct. 20, 2017.

He was a welder with CMC Steel. He loved hunting, fishing, his pitbull “Zeus” and helping others. He was born May 21, 1997, in Greenville to Claude Harold Rabb III and Joyce Lynn Collins Reynolds.

He is survived by his parents; stepfather, Kevin Reynolds; maternal grandparents, Ray and Lenda Collins; paternal grandparents, Bobby and Louise Rabb and Jerry and Brenda Reynolds; a brother, Nate Rabb, and sister-in-law, Dayzie Rabb.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Word of Life Church, 1023 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, with Josh Childers officiating.  Burial will be at Cannon Memorial Park, 1150 N. Main St., Fountain Inn, SC 29644.

Julia McClaran

CENTRAL — Julia Iola Golden McClaran, 56, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017.

Born in Fort Bragg, N.C., she was a daughter of Imogene Merck Golden Head of Central and the late, Foyle “Pete” Golden. She graduated from Daniel High School, received a Bachelor of Science degree from Bob Jones University and an associate’s degree in nursing from Greenville Technical College. After working as a professional cake baker, she began her career as a registered nurse. She enjoyed continuing her baking skills for all her friends and co-workers at Jervey Eye Group. When she wasn’t working she enjoyed exercising, outdoor activities and spending time with her friends and family. To her six grandchildren she was known as Grandma Julie and she loved making memories with them. One of her greatest joys in life was being a mom to her four children.

Her life exemplified the love and kindness of Jesus to all who knew her. She often stated how blessed she was for all God had done for her. She will be remembered for her sweet spirit and beautiful smile.

Patricia Ann Gibson

Easley — Patricia Ann “Pat” Gibson, 77, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at her home.

Born in Buncombe County, N.C., the daughter of the late Rev. James Robert Gardner and the late Mary Leota Banks Gardner, Patricia retired from Ingles-Powdersville and was a member of Jones Hill Church of God. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. Pat was loved by many.

Surviving are two daughters, Revonda J. Cudd of Easley and Beverly Lynn Gravley of Pickens; five grandchildren, Marshia Chappell, Tashia Jones, Dustin Cudd, Corbin Cudd and Brady Poole; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Miss Gibson was predeceased by her son, James Christopher Gibson.

Graveside services were held Oct. 6 at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.

Robert Layfette Lee

SENECA — Robert Layfette Lee, 79, of 111 Triangle Drive, went home to be with the Lord Monday, Oct. 2, 2017.

He was born in Walhalla and was the son of William Zetna and Marie Ingram Lee. He worked with Phillips Fibers and Kendall Company and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Marcus Wayne Lee; and brother, William Zetna Lee and Steven Lee.

He is survived by his wife, Shelby Lee; sons, Lawrence Layfette Lee (Pamela), Douglas Edward Lee (Teresa) and Steven Ryan Lee; honorary son, Donny Gilliam; sisters, Joyce Bramlett (Kenneth), Peggy McCall (Clyde) and Marcia Hawkins (Roger); brother, Michael Lee (Louise); grandchildren, Jessica S. Pitts, Hillary Lee, Savannah Lee, Grayson Lee, Nolan Lee, Olivia Lee, Joanna Deaton and Jacob Deaton; and great-grandchildren, Roddy Pitts and Lily Grace Pitts.

Funeral services for Mr. Lee were held Oct. 6 at Corinth Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Tim Tate, with Jacob Deaton and Marty McKee.

Stanley LaRue Aultman

PICKENS — Stanley LaRue Aultman, 69, loving father, and husband of Linda Gail Reeves Aultman for 47 years, passed from this life on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.

Stanley was born on Christmas Day in Pickens County, a son of the late LaRue Teague Aultman and the late Fulton Aultman. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Stanley was owner/operator of Kountry Katering, where he shared good stories along with good food. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, a member of the American Legion and a longtime volunteer of Boy Scout Troop 51. He was a friend to all and never met a stranger.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Gail of the home; daughter, Suzanne Aultman of Greenville; brother, Bill Aultman (Linda); sister, Vicky Anthony (Jim); sister-in-law, Dottie Aultman; brother-in-law, Roger Reeves; and many special nieces and nephews.
