Devils dropped by Wildcats in third round

Blue Flame ousted by South Aiken
AIKEN — The Pickens Blue Flame volleyball team knew they were in for a battle when they travelled nearly three hours to take on the South Aiken Thoroughbreds on Thursday night.
The T-Breds gave Pickens all it wanted early on taking a 2-0 lead and were close to taking the 3-0 sweep before the Blue Flame battled back from a 24-22 deficit in the do-or-die third set to take a 25-24 lead.
However, Pickens was unable to complete the comeback ultimately falling 31-29

Warriors Whipped CHECK OUT THIS WEEK’s FRENZY

The D.W. Daniel Lions remained unbeaten, crushing West-Oak 56-0 last Friday. Liberty got a clutch victory over Blacksburg 33-29 as time expired. The Easley Green Wave stalled out as Easley to a tough Greenwood team 24-7, while the Pickens Blue Flame continued to struggle, falling to Westside 52-7. On Saturday, the Clemson Tigers lacked consistency on office is 17-12 win.

PHS athletic Hall of Fame class honored
PICKENS — Pickens High School honored its two-member athletic Hall of Fame class of Kenny Cook and Katie Welborn Gowan during the school’s football game against Westside on Friday night.
