Daniel tennis falls in state title match

CENTRAL — The winner of the last two Class 3A Upper State championships, the Daniel High School boys’ tennis team took on Clinton on Wednesday looking for a three-peat.

The Lions accomplished their goal, downing the Red Devils 5-1 in a showcase of their depth and talent as they advanced to this weekend’s State championship.

Pickens High School announces scholar athletes for March, April

PICKENS — Every month, Pickens High School celebrates student athletes who work hard in the classroom by naming Scholar-Athletes of the Month.

The school recently announced its scholar-athletes for March and April with athletes from three different sports receiving the honors.

COUNTY — With the school year winding down, Pickens County squads are hoping to finish the year strong in the South Carolina High School League playoffs.

The best represented school from Pickens County this season is Daniel High School, withits baseball, softball, boys’ tennis, boys’ soccer and girls’ soccer teams all represented in the Class 3A playoffs.
