UPSTATE — The purpose of the South Carolina Career Woman of the Year award program is to honor and recognize a woman who has achieved outstanding success in her own career and has made significant contributions to civic and humanitarian and religious activities.

Delaine Childress, who was recently honored with the Tri-County Business and Professional Women’s Club’s Career Woman of the Year award, will compete in April with women from other areas in South Carolina for the state award.
