• Nix reunion set for June 4 at Northside

The descendants of Ulysses and Lou Annie Monroe Nix will gather for the annual Nix reunion early next month.
The reunion, set for Sunday, June 4, is set to be held at Northside Baptist Church, located at 421 Sangamo Road in Pickens. Lunch will be at 1 p.m.
Plates, cups and ice will be furnished, and family members are asked to bring covered dishes, desserts and drinks.

• Reece reunion scheduled May 28

The descendants of John S. and Ada Cantrell Reece will be holding their annual reunion at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 28, at Mountain Grove Baptist Church. The church is located at 644 E Preston McDaniel Road in Pickens.

• Hagood- Mauldin to offer guided tours

The Pickens County Historical Society invites the public to the Hagood-Mauldin House and Garden/Irma Morris Museum of Fine Art for tours on Saturday, May 20, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The Hagood-Mauldin House is located at 104 N. Lewis St. in downtown Pickens.
The house and garden will be open the third Saturday of each month, May through October 2023. There will be no charger for admission to the tours for adults and children. Guests are invited to bring the whole family to visit the beautiful home and see all the fine art of this important piece of Pickens history.

• Veterans invited to American Legion

Veterans in the Liberty area are invited to the next meeting of American Legion Post 67 in Liberty. The Legion meets on the third Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Scout Hut, circle off North Palmetto Street. All veterans are invited.
