• Six Mile Baptist to host homecoming

Six Mile Baptist Church located at 149 N Main St. in Six Mile, will have its Homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 15. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Special music will be proved by Tugaloo Holler. The event will provide preaching, singing, food and fellowship.

• Lions plan info meeting this week

All local residents are invited to learn about the Pickens Lions Club in an informal informational meeting Thursday, Aug. 8, at 7 p.m. at the Pizza Inn. Bring a friend, a neighbor, or anyone else who may be interested. Call Brian or Gennie at (864) 507-3146 with questions and to reserve your spot. All fence-sitters are invited.

• Dalton reunion planned Sunday

The annual reunion for descendants of Lewis Rector Dalton and Janie Bowen Dalton will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Elljean Baptist Church. The church is located at 605 Elljean Road just off S.C. Highway 8 between Pickens and Easley. Attendees are asked to bring lunch and tea or soft drinks to share. Plates, cups, napkins and silverware will be provided.

• Senior Center now offering yoga class

The Hagood Senior Center is now offering a new therapeutic chair yoga class. Held from 8:30-9:15 a.m. on Wednesdays in Room 3, there are no charges for the class at this time, but donations for Cheryl Smith are encouraged to help defray her travel expenses. This will be an introductory class for the month of August to determine community response. Contact Lucy at (864) 419-1794 with any questions about the activity.

• Faith Lutheran to host Bible school

The Faith Lutheran Chapel, located at 729 W. Main St. in Pickens, will be hosting a vacation Bible farm from 6:30-8:30 p.m. every day this week through Friday.
