County OKs $32M bond for jail, debt

PICKENS — Pickens County Council approved $32 million in general obligation bonds last week to fund a new jail and refinance existing debt.
Council passed Ordinance No. 540 on third reading at its regular meeting the night of Sept. 11 in a 5-1 vote. Chairman Roy Costner noted council amended the ordinance to reflect an increase from $25 million to $32
