• Annual wellness fair set for Library

The second annual wellness fair is planned at the Sarlin Community Library in Liberty on Saturday, Jan. 25. The even will have information and representatives from the YMCA, Ingles Pharmacy, Central-Clemson Recreation Center and more.Attendees will be entered into a prize drawing from a local business.

• Baha’is set to host ‘Light of the World’

Baha’is of Pickens County will host a viewing of “Light to the World.” The public is invited to watch the film at Easley’s Hampton Memorial Library on Sunday, Jan. 26, from 3-4:30 p.m. The film offers an overview of the life of Baha’u’llah and the history and current progress of the Baha’i Faith around the world.

• CMH Auxiliary to host yard sale

The Cannon Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will be hosting its annual indoor yard sale on Thursday, Jan. 23, from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. The sale will be located in the classroom at AnMed Health Cannon. Shoppers are invited to come check out the huge variety of items for sale and support the Cannon Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

• Quilters plan next meeting on Jan. 28

The UpCountry Quilters Guild will have its next meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m. The meeting will take place at Pickens Presbyterian Church, located at 311 W. Main St. in Pickens. The guest speaker will be Faye Jones. She will share fabric surface design techniques by sharing many examples of her work, including quilts using various methods such as shibori, soy batik, rust dyeing, color magnet and more.

• Volunteers needed to paint Hope Globes

The Hope Globe is an Upstate South Carolina charity that was created to provide emotional support for children at Prisma and other hospitals of the Upstate.

The charity is currently looking for volunteers to paint globes and raise awareness, and the group is also asking for donations of any kind — furniture, appliances, cars, etc. — for its online thrift store. • Beginner sewing lessons offered

The women’s department of the Church of Jesus Christ the Lamb of God is offering beginner sewing lessons on the third Sunday of each month at 3 p.m. All supplies are furnished. • Moving Forward Group to meet

The Moving Forward Group for widowed persons meets the second Tuesday of each month at Silver Bay Restaurant on U.S. Highway 123 in Easley. Held at 6 p.m., the meeting offers a night of fellowship, encouragement and making new friends. For more information, call Marian Huskins at (864) 295-1714.

• Library board announces meetings

The Pickens County Library System of Board of Trustees recently announced its 2020 meetings and locations schedule.

The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. March 19 at the Sarlin Library, located at 15 S. Palmetto St. in Liberty. The remaining meetings will be:

• May 21, 6 p.m. at the Hampton Memorial Library, 304 Biltmore Road in Easley.

• July 16, 6 p.m. the at Hampton Memorial Library, 304 Biltmore Road in Easley.

• Sept. 17, 6 p.m. at the Village Library, 124 N. Catherine St., in Pickens.

• Nov. 19, 6 p.m. at the Central-Clemson Library, 105 Commons Way in Central.

• Pack 51 scouting for new Cub Scouts

Do you want to be a Cub Scout? Cub Scout Pack 51 meets every Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Pickens. Cub Scouts is open to all youth in 5K to fifth grade. Boys over 11 years old are eligible for Boy Scouts, which meets on Monday nights at the Troop 51 Scout Hut in Pickens. • Sertoma Club invites locals to meet

The Clemson Sertoma Club invites all interested local residents to attend meetings.

The club meets at noon the first and third Tuesdays of each month at Occasions at Wedgefield, located at 1551 Eighteen Mile Road in Central. New visitors are always welcome.

• WPO offers chance at monthly fellowship

The Widowed Persons Organization (WPO) organization is not a grief therapy group, but it does provide an opportunity for widowed persons to come together, make new friends and share conversation and food while finding a new beginning in life. The group meets on the second Saturday of every month at 1 p.m. in the fellowship building of Lakeview Baptist Church on Mauldin Lake Road in Pickens.
