• Pavilion opening in Dacusville April 6
The grand opening of the Dacusville pavilion is set for April 6. Gates at the event will open at 4 p.m. Special guests Little Roy and Izzy will begin their show beginning at 6 p.m. The Sweet Potato Pie Kids will open the show.
Hamburgers and hot dogs will be available, and those in attendance are asked to bring lawn chairs. Admission is $10 in advance and $15 at the gate the day of the event. Children under 12 will be admitted free.
• Sertoma Club invites locals to meet
The Clemson Sertoma Club invites all interested local residents to attend its meetings.
The club meets at noon the first and third Tuesdays of each month at Occasions at Wedgefield, located at 1551 Eighteen Mile Road in Central.
New visitors are always welcome.
• Library system sets meeting schedule
The Pickens County Library System Board of Trustees has four more bimonthly meetings scheduled for this year.
The remaining meetings are May 16 at the Clemson-Central Regional Branch, July 18 at the Hampton Memorial Library, Sept. 19 at the Village Branch in Pickens and Nov. 21 at the Hampton Memorial Library. Each meeting will begin at 6 p.m.
• Botanical garden plans spring sale
The South Carolina Botanical Garden on the campus of Clemson University has scheduled its annual spring plant sale for early next month. Located at the SCBG nursery off U.S. Highway 76 and Perimeter Road in Clemson, the sale will offer lots of trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, natives and vegetables.
The sale will run from 2-6 p.m. Friday, April 5, for members only. The sale will be open to the public from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, April 6.
There will also be a second-chance sale open to the public from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, April 20.

• Porter’s Chapel to host ice cream social
This Saturday, Porter’s Chapel Church will host an ice cream social and cake walk from 3-6 p.m. The church congregation wants to get to know their neighbors.
Everyone is welcome for an ice cream cone, a sundae or a banana split. The ice cream social event will offer fun and fellowship. A love offering will be accepted, with all proceeds going to fund mission work in the local community.
Porter’s Chapel is located at 152 E Preston McDaniel Road in Pickens.
• Easley Community Band to play events
The Easley Community Band will perform its annual spring concert at 7:30 p.m. April 15 at the Foothills Playhouse in Easley. The performance will feature vocalist Heather Haithcock and a collection of patriotic tunes and audience favorites. Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted.
The band is also collecting donations for Habitat for Humanity of Pickens County, as it celebrates more than 35 years of building affordable homes and transforming lives in Pickens County. For more information about the band, visit easleycommunityband.org or find the band’s Facebook page.
The Easley Community Band will also be performing at 9 a.m. Saturday at Easley’s Spring Fling and Jazz Festival, playing a variety of standards, patriotic tunes, and audience favorites.
