• Vendor apps now available for Fall for Liberty 2013

 

Fall for Liberty 2013, a bluegrass event, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in downtown Liberty.

Vendors are now being accepted and can apply online at www.libertyscevents.com. Deadline for applications is Oct. 14. payment and forms can be dropped at Liberty City Hall. The event committee only accepts one vendor from any direct sales company (i.e. 31, Avon, etc.) and limits the number of spots for food vendors. Vendor spots are first-come, first-served when payment is received.

 

• Lynch reunion scheduled for Oct. 5

 

A reunion of the descendants of Captain William Lynch will be held in the Fellowship Hall of Holly Springs Baptist Church (U.S. 178 at S.C. 11) Saturday, Oct. 5, beginning at 10 a.m.

 

• Pickens-Liberty Lions plan meetings

 

The Pickens-Liberty Lions Club is in need of new members. The club meets the first and third Thursday of every month at Pizza Inn in Pickens. Dinner begins at 6:40 p.m., and the meeting starts at 7 p.m. Meetings are open to anyone interested in joining the club or simply finding out more about the club and how it serves Pickens.

 

• Pickens High Class of 1973 to hold reunion

 

The Pickens High Class of 1973 will be holding its 40th reunion on Nov. 2.  Details are still being finalized, but please mark your calendar and plan to attend. You can keep up with updates, location and fun at the Facebook page “PHS 73 Reunion” or call Tommy at (843) 450-8328. The reunion will be held at The Rock on Highway 11 from 6-10 p.m.

 

• FBI Christ Squad will meet at LCUMC

 

On Wednesday nights beginning on Sept. 11, children ages kindergarten-5th grade are invited to attend Wednesday night meetings to become Firm Believers In (FBI) Christ.

The Church will provide dinner each Wednesday night beginning at 5:30 p.m. The group will sing songs and learn basic, fundamental stories from the Bible. • End of summer events set at LCUMC

 

Lawrence Chapel United Methodist Church, located at 2101 Six Mile Hwy., will end its summer worship schedule on Sept. 8. Early service returns at 8:15 a.m. Every Sunday breakfast at 9 a.m. Sunday School for all ages at 9:30 p.m., Sunday Worship at 10:30 a.m. and After-Church Fellowship in the Fellowship Hall.

 

• McConnell-Attaway reunion set for Sept. 8

 

The McConnell-Attaway Family Reunion will be held 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 8 at the McConnell Shelter on 123 Hidden Hills, Marietta. Please bring your family and a well filled picnic basket and enjoy the afternoon. Paper products and ice will be provided. For more information call 864-836-6329.

• Trotter Clan reunion planned for Sept. 21

 

Descendants of George MacDuffie and Sarah O’Neal Trotter and Trotter Clan will hold a family reunion on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 4 p.m. The reunion will be held at Griffin Baptist Church Fellowship building. For more information please call Jo Ann Brewer at 864-859-5501.

 

• Gilstrap reunion changes location

 

The annual Gilstrap reunion, which will be held Sept. 7, has been moved to Mountain Grove Baptist Church Fellowship Building on Preston McDaniel Road off U.S. 178. The meal will be served around 1 p.m. Paper goods and ice will be furnished.
