1. That an adoption proceeding was filed in the Family Court of Pickens County on February 25, 2014 and in this Complaint you are alleged to be the father of a white male child born in Pickens County, South Carolina on January 12, 2014.

2. That the Petitioners in the above-captioned Notice are not named for the purpose of confidentiality; however, the Court knows the true identity of the Petitioners and in responding to this Notice, you are required to use the caption and the number 2014-DR-39-182.

3. That if Notice to Contest, Intervene or otherwise Respond is filed by you with the Court within (30) days of the receipt of this notice of Adoption Proceedings, you will be given the opportunity to appear and be heard on the merits of the adoption. To file notice to Contest, Intervene or otherwise Respond in this action, you must notify the above-named Court at the Pickens County Courthouse, 214 E. Main Street, Pickens South Carolina 29671 in writing of your intentions to Contest, Intervene or otherwise Respond. It is further alleged that your consent to this adoption is not required in S.C. Code Ann. Section 63-9-310 and that your parental rights should be terminated pursuant to S.C. Code Ann. Section 63-7-2570(7).

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an action has been commenced and is now pending before this Court upon Complaint of the above named Plaintiff against the above named Defendants, seeking to remove cloud from title to certain real property by reason of a tax deed in his chain of title, which property was, at the time of the commencement of this action and at all times thereafter, including the date of the filing of this notice, situate in Pickens County, South Carolina, and more fully described as follows, to wit:

BY VIRTUE OF AN ORDER of the Court of Common Pleas for Pickens County, South Carolina, heretofore issued in the case of Brenda Wires and Barbara Day, the undersigned as Special Referee, Perry H. Gravely, will sell on January 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pickens County Courthouse in Pickens, South Carolina, to the highest bidder:

“ALL that piece, parcel or lot of land in Pickens Township, Pickens County, State of South Carolina, on waters of Town Creek and near and North from the Pickens Mill, and containing ninety one-hundredths (.90) of an acre, more or less, and adjoining lands now or formerly owned by C. B. Childs on the North; lands with Mrs. Minnie Williams on the East; and bounded on the South by public road; and adjoining lands with Richard I. Pace on the West, and fronting one hundred and thirty feet on said public road and having the following courses and distances, to wit:

BEGINNING in center of said public road at an iron pin, southeast corner of said lot; thence said road North 77 West 132 feet to corner of lot sold to Richard I. Pace; thence North 21 ¼ East 4.60 chains to branch; thence up said branch to Mrs. Williams’ line; thence South 21 ½ West 4.45 chains to the BEGINNING corner.”

TERMS OF SALE: For cash. The purchaser(s) shall pay for deed and documentary recording fees and the successful bidder shall deposit with Clerk of Court for Pickens County a certified check or cash in the amount equal to 5% of the amount of the bid as evidence of good faith. Deficiency judgment being waived, the sale will not remain open and shall be final on the said sales day. In the event the successful bidder fails to comply with the terms of sale within 20 days the deposit will be applied to the cost and the balance distributed to the Plaintiff and the Special Referee shall forthwith resale the property, after due notice and advertisement, at such subsequent sales day until a purchaser who shall comply with the terms of sale is obtained. The subsequent sale or sales shall be made at the risk of the former purchaser.
