Patsy Alexander
Easley — Patsy Howell Alexander, 68, of 124 Rocky Lane, died Monday, April 29, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Darlington, a daughter of the late Willie and Elise Howell, Mrs. Alexander was a homemaker and a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Gerald W. Alexander of the home; two sons, the Rev. Gerald Alexander (Rebecca) of Portland, Tenn., and Charlton Alexander (Teresa) of Easley; two daughters, Mavie Lynn Pettit of Seneca and the Rev. Patricia Reep of Albert, Kan.; four brothers, seven sisters, nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Alexander was predeceased by a son-in-law, Kenneth Reep.
Memorial services were 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith Baptist Church.

Emily Sims
Easley — Emily Capers McDonald Sims, 89, formerly of Lenhardt Road, died Monday, April 29, 2013 in Charleston.
Born in Georgetown on Dec. 6, 1923, Mrs. Sims was the daughter of the late Walter H. and Marian Bernice MacDonald McDonald. She was a homemaker and a member of Easley First United Methodist Church.
Surviving is her husband of 71 years, James Johnson Sims, Jr.; two daughters, Elizabeth McDonald Whitt of Charlotte, N.C. and Claire Hamilton Grubb of Pinopolis; and two grandsons of Charlotte, Robert T. Whitt, Jr., and James K. Whitt.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sims was predeceased by two brothers, Walter Stuart McDonald and WalBern McDonald.
Memorial graveside services were 2 p.m. Saturday at Westview Cemetery, Easley.

Marjory May Bowick
Easley — Mrs. Marjory May Gault Bowick, 84, of 207 Asbury Circle, wife of Dr. Ralph “Hubert” Bowick, died Monday, April 29, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Ypsilanti, Mich., Mrs. Bowick was a daughter of the late William Eby and Mabel Winifred Brogdon Gault. Mrs. Bowick graduated from the Henry Ford Hospital School of Nursing. She was a former nurse and and a former substitute teacher for the School District of Pickens County. Mrs. Bowick was a member of the Dorothy O. Scott Garden Club as well as various Bridge Clubs, the Rhododendron Society, and a leader of the Candy Stripers Club at Baptist Easley Hospital. In addition, Mrs. Bowick was an Election Poll Worker and was an active member of Easley Presbyterian Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 60 years, are a son, Bill (Kaye) Bowick; three daughters, Debbie Page, Toni Bowick, and Pam (Sam) Baker; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bowick was predeceased by two sisters.
Memorial services were 3 p.m. Friday, May 3 at Easley Presbyterian Church.
Escort of Honor was the Dorothy O. Scott Garden Club and the Burdine Springs Bridge Club.

Jerry W. Tanner
Easley — Jerry W. Tanner, 66, of 404 Lena Drive, died on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Mecklenburg County, N.C. he was a son of the late Carl DeWitt and Ruth House Tanner. He retired from Clarkson Industrial Contractors and was a Charter member of Unity Baptist Church in Greenville. He was a member of Bates Masonic Lodge # 189 AFM and the Hejaz Shrine Temple.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Glosson Tanner of the home; two daughters and sons in law, Kim and Butch Chambers of Liberty, and Kristie and Kevin Zahm of Easley; four grandchildren, Morgan and Tanner Chambers, and Kamryn and Keenan Zahm.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Martin, and a brother, Jimmy Tanner.
Funeral services to honor Mr. Tanner’s life were 2 p.m. Saturday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial was at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Bailey Hardenbrook
Pickens — Dorothy Josephine Bailey Hardenbrook, 76, wife of David Daniel Hardenbrook died May 1, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Hardenbrook was born in Jacksonville, Fla. a daughter of the late John and Mary Bailey. She was a homemaker, member of Victory Tabernacle Church, Westminster. Her love of God was known by all whose lives she touched.
Survivors include her husband David of 58 years of the home, three sons; Danny (Susan) Hardenbrook, Mike (Lonna) Hardenbrook and Brian Hardenbrook all of Six Mile, two daughters; Patsy (Larry) Cooper, Cindy (Dale) Stewart all of Liberty, 21 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and a brother; Charles Bailey of Jacksonville, Florida.
Mrs. Hardenbrook was predeceased by her parents, a daughter; Kimberly Rollins, two brothers and one sister.
A funeral service was conducted in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home Friday, May 3 at 3 p.m. officiated by Pastor Jerry Hardenbrook and Pastor Larry Cooper, burial followed at the West View Cemetery, Liberty, and songs of encouragement were offered by Mrs. Sue Nichols.

Jane Staton
Pickens — Jane Waldrop Staton, 69, wife of the late Arnold Ules Staton, died Friday, May 3, 2013 at her home.
Born in Pickens on June 12, 1943, to the late Ross and Eva Curtis Waldrop, Mrs. Staton was a member of Mile Creek Baptist Church in Six Mile, and a retiree of Ryobi in Pickens. She enjoyed spending time with her family, being outdoors, and helping anyone she could.
She is survived by two sons, Mike Staton (Julia) of Pickens, and Mark Staton (Brenda) of Denver, N.C.; a daughter, Lynn Romero (Jimmy) of Indian Trail, N.C.; a sister, Bettie Ellenburg (Sam) of Easley; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Joel Waldrop and a child.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, May 6 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.

Paula Nichols
Central — Paula Holder Roach Nichols, 41, of 187 Eden Lane, died on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Oconee Memorial Hospital.
Born in Seneca she was a daughter of Randy J. and Sandra Taylor Holder. She was a member of Kings Grove Baptist Church. Her hobbies included fishing, arts & crafts, being involved with the ROTC, and spending time with her loving pet, Peppy.
Surviving in addition to her parents of Central, a son, Bobby James Roach of the home; a brother, J.T. Holder of Central; her husband, Brian Nichols of the home; a niece, Kandi Holder, and two nephews, Michael and Matthew Holder.
Funeral services to honor Paula’s life will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Kings Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
The family will be at the home of her parents, 1717 Old Seneca Road, Central SC 29630.
