Linda Pannone

Easley — Linda Grace Moore Pannone, 61, died on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014.

Linda was born in Tucson, Ariz., a daughter of the late Edwin Bernard and Herlinda Cabajah Moore Johnson. For over 30 years, Linda was a hairdresser and owned and operated Fashion Hair Designs by Linda in Easley. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. Linda loved her clients and spending time with her family. Linda also loved music, dancing, and attending local musical events and concerts.

Survivors include her step-mother, Patricia Moore of Easley, daughter, Dana Rene Tucker Chappell of Greenville, and son, Alex Brent Chappell of Anderson and her fiancé, Phil Ashby of Easley. Also surviving are grandchildren, Madison Grace Gregory, Ashton River Chappell, Erin Mackenzie Beard, and Kirsten Jude Chappell. Brothers include, Frank Moore (Wanda), Eddie Moore, Ricky Moore (Angie), and Josh Moore (Kelly) all of Liberty, and Gary Johnson of Fountain Inn, and sisters, Nancy Moore of Easley, and Laurie Johnson of Sana Ana, Calif.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a son, Jason Chappell.

Funeral services were conducted 12 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with Bishop David Vanhoff officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

Shirley E. Holcombe

Easley — Shirley Esuary Holcombe, 65, of 108 Buck Horn Lane, wife of the late Joseph “Tony” Holcombe, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014 at her home.

Born in Pickens County, a daughter of Cecil Esuary of Pickens and the late Mildred Moss Esuary, Mrs. Holcombe retired from Sun Belt Equipment Company and was a member of Lake View Baptist Church where she loved working with the kids at the Good News Club, Vacation Bible School and Camp. She sang and played the piano at church.

Mrs. Holcombe loved the Lord and her church. She formerly sang with the Esuary Quartet.

Mrs. Holcombe was a precious and sweet lady of great faith.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, are a son, Joseph Timothy Holcombe of Easley; a daughter, Angela Marie Dodgens (Wade) of Easley; two brothers, Gary Esuary (Eloise) and Donnie Esuary (Debra), all of Pickens; a sister, Diana Mabry (Don) of Seneca; five grandchildren, Craig Dodgens (Emily), Abbi Dodgens, Amber Holcombe, Caleb Holcombe and Chloe Holcombe and a great-grandson, Carson Dodgens.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lake View Baptist Church. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to the Wilds Camp Fund of Lake View Baptist Church or to the C.O.T.U. Camp Fund of Rices Creek Baptist Church.

Denise Fogarty

Easley — Denise Stephens Fogarty, 54, of North C Street, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014 at Baptist Easley Hospital.

Born in Pickens County, a daughter of Ed and Opal Gastley Stephens of Easley, Denise was employed with Cryovac and a member of Arial Baptist Church.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, are a son, Brandon Durham (Meranda) of Easley; a daughter, Sha Davis (Keith) of Key West, Fla.; two sisters, Joan Parsons (Danny) of Liberty and Wanda Waldrop (David) of Easley; four grandchildren, Nathaniel Crowe, Landon Durham, Brandon Durham and Hope Davis.

A Celebration of Life was at 12 p.m. Saturday at Grace Church in Powdersville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Martha O’Donald

Easley — Martha Ruth Williams O’Donald, 89, wife of the late Bob Morris O’Donald, formerly of 703 Pelzer Highway, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2014 at Capstone Health and Rehab of Easley.

Born in Oconee County, to the late Rupert and Frances Meadows Williams, Martha was a loving mother, grandmother and sister, and was a member of Open Praise Fellowship Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Priscilla Kolb (Ed) and Elaine Coleman (Terry), all of Easley; two sisters, Cat O’Donald of Gaffney and Wilma Sanders of Orlando, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Greg O’Donald (Renee), Blake O’Donald (Krista), Lee Moore (Donna), Eddie Kolb (Stacey), Ricky Kolb, Melissa Gilstrap (Gregg), Russell McKittrick (Jennifer) and Carey O’Donald; and 16 great-grandchildren, Andrew, Eli, Brandon, Erin and Sophie O’Donald, Elliot Moore, Ethan, Sarah, Zack, Abbey and Steven Kolb, Coleman, Emily and Colin Gilstrap, and Jackson and Harrison McKittrick.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by three sons, Pete, Tony and Randy O’Donald; a daughter, Crystal O’Donald; a grandson, Tim O’Donald; eight brothers; and five sisters.

Funeral services were 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Henry Furman Bagwell, Sr.

Easley — Mr. Henry Furman Bagwell, Sr., 81, husband of Barbara Duncan Bagwell, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014 at his home.

Born in Pickens County, a son of the late George Oscar and Artie Holder Bagwell, Mr. Bagwell was employed with GE for 27 years and was a member of Enon Baptist Church. He was a member of the Bates Lodge #189.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 58 years, are a son, Henry Furman “Buddy” Bagwell, Jr. (Kim), of Wiesbaden, Germany; one sister, Lorine Hall of Easley; two grandchildren, Alexander Bagwell and Kourtney Fargie (Derrick); and two great-grandchildren, Sean Bagwell and Benjamin Fargie.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bagwell was predeceased by five brothers, Oscar, Eddie, Bill, Walter and Earl Bagwell; and five sisters, Mary McDonald, Ethel Howard, Alice Ellison, Margie Roper and Emily Bagwell.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with the Revs. Scott Willis and Brad Dover officiating. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park with Masonic rites.

Shirley Sue Sanders

Easley — Shirley Sue Sanders, 73, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014 at her home.

Born in Calhoun, Ga., a daughter of the late Coffer James and Minnie Lee Robinson Sanders, Shirley retired from Alice Manufacturing Co. and was a member of Lenhardt Christian Fellowship.

Surviving, are a brother, Raymond L. Sanders of Liberty; three sisters, Joyce Medlin, Ruby Holder and Jo Ann O’Conner, all of Easley; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by three sons, Edward and Scottie Atkins, and Tony Edens; and one daughter, Deborah Atkins.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with the Revs. John Brown and Robbie Brissey officiating. Burial followed Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Grace E. Kelley

Pickens — Grace Elizabeth Thomas Kelley, 95, widow of Nathan Lawrence Kelley, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014.

Mrs. Kelley was born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Waddy Earl and Maggie Bolding Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of Mountain View Baptist Church, where she was formerly active in Sunday School and as a member of the choir.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Eller (Rusty), and her son, Joe Kelley, all of Pickens, three grandchildren, Kelli Hall, Darryl Stewart, and Ashley Stewart and great grandchildren, Kaitlin and Nathan Hall, and Cameron, Tyler, and Alyssa Stewart.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Kelley was preceded in death by a son, Jim Kelley.

Funeral services were 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28 at Dillard Funeral Home in the funeral home chapel will the Rev. Rick Hayes officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

Martha Avery

Liberty — Martha Jean Wilkins Avery, 74, wife of Clarence Ray Avery, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014.

Mrs. Avery was born in Lithonia, Ga., a daughter of the late Henry and Mozelle George Wilkins. She was retired as a CNA with Countryside Manor in Easley and was a member of Crosswell Baptist Church. She loved flowers and gardening.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Clarence, of the home, a daughter, Donna Watford (Eddie) of Pelzer, grandchildren, Eddie Watford, III, Jimmy Watford, and Steven Cody Watford, great grandchildren, Hunter, Aden, and Emily Watford. Also surviving is a brother, Jackie Wilkins of Covington, Ga.

A graveside service was conducted Monday, 3 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

Mary Jo Wilson

Norris — Mary Jo Wilson, 92, of Norris died on Sept. 26, 2014.

Born in Oconee County, she was the widow of James Edgar Wilson.   She was retired from West Point Pepperell in Clemson. A member of Central First Baptist Church, she was a former Sunday School teacher, GA leader and choir member.

Surviving are her daughter Debbie Whitlock (Ronnie) of Liberty, granddaughters Carla Whitlock of Easley and Aimee McDermott (Michael) of Williamston.  Surviving are brothers and sisters: Bob McGuire (Ruth) of Easley, Bill McGuire (Margaret) of Anderson, Tom McGuire (Marion Sieffert) of Clemson, Catherine Clayton of Cullowhee, N.C., Jaqueline Bryant of Tucker, Ga. and Bobbie Ann McGuire of Norris.

She was predeceased by her parents Carl and Minnie McGuire and a brother Ben McGuire.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown Easley with the Rev. Jim Spencer officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

Irene D. Grant

Pickens — Irene Dalton Grant, 87, widow of Wallace Theodore Grant, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Grant was born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Arthur and Lissie Hendricks Dalton. She was retired from The Glenwood Plant of Mayfair Mills in Easley and was a member of Porter’s Chapel United Methodist Church where she attended the Senior Adults Class.

Survivors include son, Kenneth D. Grant (Kaye) of Liberty and daughter, Kathy G. Gilstrap (David) of Pickens, grandchildren include John Boggs (Sherry), Lanny Grant, Jessica Grant McMillen (John), Keith Gilstrap (Nicole), Kevin Gilstrap (B.J.), and Jeffrey Gilstrap and great grandchildren, Will, Neely, and Ty Boggs, Hazel and Olive Gilstrap, Tillman Gilstrap, Bradley Nix, and Sloane, Nate, Rhett, and Reeve McMillen. Surviving also is a sister, Betty Jean Carter of Easley.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Grant was preceded in death by a son, Michael D. Grant.

A graveside service was held 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens in Pickens with the Rev. Dick Waldrep, the Rev. Cy Rogers and Mr. Junior Abercrombie officiating.

Dorothy E. Mull

Easley — Dorothy Evelyn Ellenburg Mull, 88, widow of Garvin Mull, died on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 at Baptist Easley Hospital.

Mrs. Mull was born in Oconee County, a daughter of the late Verner Tillman and Della Richey Ellenburg. She was retired from both Swirl in Easley and Sir Shirtmaker in Pickens.

Survivors include a sister, Frances Alexander of Six Mile, brother, Clifton Ellenburg (Mary) of Six Mile. Mrs. Mull is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30 at Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Archie Lynn Murray

Pickens — Archie Lynn Murray, Chief MSgt USAF Retired, 82, husband of Joyce Sheppard Murray, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Murray was born in Hico, Texas, a son of the late J. E. and Edith Grace Rich Murray. He was retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years service where he served as a surgical first assistant. Mr. Murray was an accomplished woodworker and cabinet maker and was an avid outdoorsman where he loved to fish and hunt. Mr. Murray was a Mason and a member of his lodge in Savannah, Ga.

After retirement from the Air Force, Mr. Murray was involved in big truck sales in Greenville and studied at Tri-County Technical College where he earned degrees in criminal justice and business. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Joyce Murray of the home, sons, David Lynn Murray (Susan) of Plano, Texas, Michael Kenneth Murray (Elaine) of Pickens and Patrick Wayne Murray (Ty) of Pickens. Also surviving are five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lugene Johnson.

A memorial service was 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept 30 in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home.

JoAnne Huffman

Cleveland — JoAnne Woodworth Huffman, 72, wife of William Huffman, died, Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville.

Mrs. Huffman was born in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late William L. and Frances Woodworth. She was retired from the John F. Kennedy Space Center after 27 years service and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pickens.

Survivors include her husband, William Huffman of the home, three daughters, Sondra Anne Gross (Ken) of Cumming, Ga., Debra Anne Bexfield (Jim) of Satellite Beach, Fla., and Pamela Anne Gunthorpe (Russell) of Rockledge, Fla., grandchildren are Kelley Paquette, Kevin Gross, Scott Gross, and Tyler Bexfield. She is also survived by a sister, Sue Woodworth of Coco, Fla.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5 at Grace United Methodist Church in Pickens with services following at 3 p.m. with the Rev. James McCoy-Bruce officiating.
