EARL W. PATTERSON
EASLEY — Mr. Earl W. Patterson, 76, of Easley, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Patterson was born in Brevard, N.C., on July 7, 1948, to the late Bert and Bertha Powell Patterson. He was a member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church. Mr. Patterson enjoyed working on cars, going on fishing and hunting trips, watching NASCAR, collecting coins, reading and watching old westerns, and you could always find him snacking on some candy. He was truly a man with many talents. Mr. Patterson will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lorena Powell Patterson; four children, Sherry Patterson, Shelia Anderson Newton (Dan), Jackie B. Smith and Shane Patterson (Jenna); nine grandchildren, Desiree Hickey, Dana Sayers, Ashley Cassell, Lindsey Anderson Adams, Brandon Smith (Ashley), Fischer Smith, Makayla Patterson, Mckenzie Patterson and Alexia Cleveland; 12 great-grandchildren, Teya Hickey, Dakota Sayers, Lailah Sayers, Kailey Sayers, Dawson Cassell, Kaydance Cassell, Jonah Cassell, Raven Adams, Oliver Adams, Carter Smith, Cassidy Smith and Roman Patterson; two sisters, Helen Banks and Linda Black; and one brother, Jimmy Patterson.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Cisson and Mollie Patterson; and one brother, Bert Patterson Jr.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Dec. 18 at Bible Baptist Church in Pickens. The family will receive friends prior to the service at church from 12:45-1:45 p.m.

BRENDA WILBANKS STEPHENS
SIX MILE — Brenda Wilbanks Stephens, 70, loving wife to the late Glen Allen Stephens Sr., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, at Oconee Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born March 25, 1954, in Brunswick County, N.C., Brenda was the daughter of the late Jim Wilbanks and Lula Benton Wilbanks. Brenda was of the Baptist faith. She was a wonderful cook who loved food, especially crab legs. Mrs. Stephens enjoyed listening to Alan Jackson. She loved traveling to the mountains and the beach. She was a humble person and helped anyone she could. She loved her dogs dearly.
Survivors include her children, Lisa Harrell (Bryan) of Easley, Karen Dill (Ervin) of Pickens, Donna Fisher of Six Mile, Travis Fisher (Shandi) of Liberty, Jennifer Sutherland (Dale) of Six Mile and David Stephens of Central; grandchildren, Brittany, Ashley, Amber, Zach, Brandon, Andrew, Izzy, Jacob, Matthew, Tiffany, Cassidie, Shawna, Logan, Riley, Livy, Camden, Dawson, Halen, Zach R. and Matt A.; seven loving and precious great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stephens was predeceased by her first husband, Truman Fisher; her second husband, Glen Stephens; grandson, Nicholas Fisher; brother, Roger Wilbanks; and sister, Joann Moore.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Dec. 19 in the chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home in Pickens, with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. Burial will follow the service at the Gap Hill Baptist Church cemetery.

MARY ROGERS
EASLEY — Mrs. Mary Louise Woodring Rogers, 80, wife of the late Bobby Allen Rogers, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024.
Born in Brevard, N.C., a daughter of the late Joe Woodring and the late Rosetta Elsa Golden Woodring, Mrs. Rogers was previously employed with Woodside Mills-Easley Division for 30 years and later retired from Dayco Automotive.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Rogers was energetic, outgoing and loved to laugh. She loved her family and spending time with her dog, Dolly.
She will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Surviving are two sons, Bobby Allen Rogers Jr. (Rita) and Timothy Glenn Rogers, both of Liberty; two daughters, Melissa Kay Rogers (Rick) of Williamston and Regina Louise Carter (Keith) of Gray Court; one brother, Robert Woodring of Brevard; a sister, Bessie Teague (Ernest) of Easley; two grandchildren, Joseph Rogers and Tia Rogers; three step-granddaughters; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Rogers was predeceased by a grandson, Trent Rogers; a stepdaughter, Cindy Rogers; three brothers, Joe Woodring Jr., Vernon Woodring and J.B. Woodring; and three sisters, Betty Hall, Janie Russell and Dorothy Lail.
Graveside services were held on Dec. 13 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Easley.

JOHN R. BALLARD
EASLEY — John R. Ballard, 82, loving husband of 60 years to Judy Carolyn Chandler Ballard, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 24, 1942, in Alderson, W.Va., John was the son of the late Kyle Fletcher Ballard and Dorena Hamilton Miller Ballard. John loved playing golf and tennis. He coached baseball and football, and started the first peewee football team in Greenville County in the 1960s.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Carolyn Chandler Ballard of the home; a son, Robert S. Ballard of Seneca; three brothers, Bob Dersch (Tammie) of Piedmont, K. Scott Ballard (Judi) of Lewisburg, W.Va., and Mark T. Ballard (Sheila) of Ronceverte, W.Va.; many nieces and nephews; and his fur baby, Charlie.
Funeral services were held on Dec. 16 in the chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home in Pickens. A private burial was held.

CARLEE OWEN
PICKENS — Carlee Owen, 81, of Pickens passed away on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Owen was born in Birdie County, N.C., on June 26, 1943, to the late Avery and Cassie Smith Owen. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Mr. Owen loved to be outside working in his yard, or watching sports, pulling for the Gamecocks. He loved to be spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Cassie Raines Owen; two children, Michael Owen and April Nabors (Scott); four grandchildren, Matthew Owen (Amber), Mark Owen, Tyler Crowe and Madison Nabors; and two sisters, Hazel Couch and Margaret Finney.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Owen was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Heather Nicole Owen; four brothers, Walter, Willie, J.D. and Bruce Owen; and two sisters, Gertrude Galloway and Gladys Norris.
Funeral services were conducted at the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home on Dec. 17.
The burial took place following the service at Crossroads Baptist Church in Dacusville.

DANNY RAY DAVIS
HICKORY — Danny Ray Davis, 53, loving husband of 15 years to Wendy Eve Davis, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024.
Born May 22, 1971, in Huntsville, Ala., Danny was the son of the late Charles William Davis and Shirley Anne Cox. Danny worked many years as a manager at Shoney’s. He enjoyed working on cars and cooking; he never made a bad meal.
Survivors include his wife, Wendy Eve Davis of the home; daughter, Meagan Stevens of Ohio; three grandchildren; three sisters, Michelle Kilpatrick of Easley, Sandra Chittam of Athens, Ala., and Vicki Liles of Trinity, Ala.; a brother, Bobby Davis of Fort Payne, Ala.; and stepfather, Sam Cox of Easley.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
