LYDA ELIZABETH “LIB” HENDRICKS HAYES
PICKENS — Lyda Elizabeth “Lib” Hendricks Hayes passed from this life on April 14, 2019, at Manna Health and Rehabilitation in Pickens.
Born in Pickens County on March 11, 1924, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward Hayes and her son Stanley Hayes and five siblings. She was the daughter of the late Ivy W. Hendricks Sr. and Pearle Childs Hendricks. She is survived by her daughter Jane H. Alexander and her husband Jarrel; one grandson, Chris Alexander; and two great-grandchildren, Ethan Alexander and Ansley Chapman.
Lib was a lifetime member of Griffin Baptist Church, where she dedicated many years to teaching children’s Sunday school and diligently worked in numerous other areas, including 15 years with the Griffin Quilters. She was also very active for 40 years as a volunteer at Cannon Memorial Hospital. Her passions included her sewing and her flowers, second only to loving and caring for her family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 17, from 10-11 a.m. at Dillard Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the Dillard Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Fred Astin and the Rev. Brandon Wimpey officiating. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Griffin Baptist Church, 1629 Pumpkintown Highway, Pickens, SC 29671, or Elljean Baptist Church, 605 Elljean Road, Easley, SC 29640.

LALLIE ANNE BURDETTE KEITH
EASLEY — Anne entered into eternal rest April 14, 2019.
She was 81 years young and is survived by her two sons, Nathan Andrew and Robert Stephen; his wife, Michelle; and six grandchildren.
Born in Simpsonville, to her parents Bob and Ruth Burdette (deceased), she resided in Easley for the vast majority of her blessed life after early years in Johnson City, Tenn., during WWII. Upon graduation from Easley High School, she proudly completed degrees from Clemson and Appalachian State universities. She worked several years teaching science in both Rock Hill and Easley, prior to retiring from R.C. Edwards Junior High School after a 30-plus year tenure as head guidance counselor.
In addition to her distinguished career as a teacher and counselor, she was a longtime, active member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, Alpha Delta Kappa sorority and the Red Hat Society.
She will be lovingly remembered as a dedicated daughter, mother, grandmother, educator, counselor, thinker, humorist, adventurer, friend-to-all, and remarkable servant of her King, Jesus Christ.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 19, at 3 p.m. at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jeff Childress officiating. The family will receive friends prior from 1-3 p.m. at the church.
Donations to Home With a Heart Ministry are requested, in lieu of floral memorials.

MARIE WHITE DAVIS
EASLEY — Mrs. Marie White Davis, wife of Ellis Davis Jr., passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at her home at the age of 80.
Mrs. Davis was a daughter of the late Pierce Eugene White and Nellie (Mac) West White.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 60 years, are a sister, Eugenia White Reynolds (Barry) of Columbia; a son, Kenneth Davis (Debbie) of Easley; three daughters Teresa Handley (Bill) of Easley, Cindy Davis of Liberty, and Kathy Hetrick (John) of Greenville; 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Davis joined Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in 1981 and had been a member there for 38 years. She was the last living member of the founders of Laurens Road United Methodist Church in Greenville. She attended Greenville High School and graduated from Greenville General Hospital’s nursing program. She was a nurse in general practice and for the Greenville County School system until her retirement. She was an active member of Dacusville Lions Club, Dacusville Garden Club, and Taylors First Baptist XYZ Program.
The funeral was held on April 12 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, followed by interment at Mt. Carmel. Services were conducted by Rev. Paul Turner.

PEGGY HOLCOME
PICKENS — Margaret Anne “Peggy” Chastain Holcombe, 90, wife of the late James Brandon Holcombe, USN Ret., went home to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on Monday April 8, 2019.
Mrs. Holcombe was lovingly known in her neighborhood, community and family as “NeeNaw.”
Mrs. Holcombe was born Dec. 13, 1928, in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Wade and Annie Price Chastain. She was retired from the School District of Pickens County as a cook and also retired from the Singer Company in Pickens. She attended Holly Springs Baptist Church.
She leaves behind a son, Rodger Holcombe (Louise) of Pickens; daughter-in-law, Elaine Holcombe of Pickens; six grandchildren, Robert Holcombe (Amy) of Spartanburg, Cimeron Holcombe (Joy) of Cleveland, Jeremiah Holcombe of Pickens, Mitchell Holcombe (Candace) of Easley, Suzanne Rampey (Randy) of Old Fort, N.C., and Justin Holcombe (Katie) of Dacusville and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Holcombe was preceded in death by a son, Gregory “Gus” Holcombe, and her 12 brothers and sisters.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A graveside service was held on April 11 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, with the Rev. H.C. Couch officiating.

EDNA H. MAULDIN
EASLEY — Edna H. Mauldin, 94, of Easley, wife of the late Charles K. Mauldin, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of Andrew Hill and Alma Ward Harris. Mrs. Mauldin was the oldest, active charter member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Mauldin enjoyed reading her Bible, gardening, and needlework.
Mrs. Mauldin is survived by one son, Charles “Danny” Mauldin (Sharon), of Easley; two daughters, Joanne Randall (Jim) of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Linda Steel (Bob) of Cumming, Ga.; three grandchildren, Cindy Green (Ted) of Mauldin, Tracie Burton (Chris) of Pickens, and Ashley Murrell (Alex) of Taylors; and eight great-grandchildren Kyle, Elizabeth, Rebekah, Drake, Evan, Grant, Lucas, and Harrison.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Mauldin was predeceased by two sisters, Martha Seymore and Joyce Carroll.
Funeral services were held on April 13 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home – Downtown Easley, with burial following in Graceland Cemetery West.

JUANITA ANTHONY CAMPBELL
PICKENS — Juanita Anthony Campbell, 82, devoted mother and grandmother, passed from this life to her heavenly home on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, after a sudden illness. She was surrounded by her loving family, who sang gospel hymns as she slipped away.
Born in March 1937, she was the second child and first daughter of Jacob Vernon and Pearl Clark Anthony, who preceded her in death.
Juanita married Joe Campbell in 1956 and became a beloved wife and the ultimate nurturer as a mother and grandmother. She was also a caregiver to several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and their children over the years and was known to all of them as Nana.
She was never one to sit still for long and loved nature and being outside. She was vibrant, strong, independent and loved spending time visiting with her sisters and brother. Juanita was a woman of strong faith who loved the Lord and drew strength from His mercy.
In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; oldest brother, Fulton Anthony; and a brother-in-law, Johnny Joe Davis.
She is survived by her four daughters, Sheila Koza (Don), Pamela Jones (Rick), Denise Baldwin (Ronnie) and Becky Campbell; eight grandchildren, Jonathan Koza (Rebekah), Jessica Jones Barker (Julian), Jake Koza, Eric Jones, Justin Baldwin, Dillon Baldwin (Hillary), Lori Baldwin and Nathan Baldwin; and seven great-grandchildren, Harrison Koza, Natalie Koza, Walker Akers, Claire Barker, Cosette Barker, Asher Barker, Briggs Barker and Denver Baldwin. Her love for them was immeasurable.
Also left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Leuna Kelley, Lillie Davis and Molly Denton; and a brother, Henry Anthony; two aunts, Betty Anthony Crawford and Shirley Anthony Spencer; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.
A celebration of Juanita’s life was held on April 13 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Prior to the celebration, internment was held at Hillcrest Cemetery.
WILLIAM ALVIN “BILL” JONES
EASLEY — William Alvin “Bill” Jones, 74, of Saluda, N.C., passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born in Easley, Mr. Jones was the son of the late Martin Alvin and Gladys Nation Jones. He graduated from Easley High School in 1962, attended North Greenville College and graduated from Central (Southern) Wesleyan College. He was a member of Saluda First Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He was retired as a manager of Investment Services, owner/manager of Sam Wyche Sports World, owner/manager of Outdoor Adventures Rafting Company and founded Trophies Unlimited in Easley. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. His devotion to his family was unparalleled.
Surviving are his wife, Sherri E. Jones, of the home; two sons, Scott Jones (Leisa) of Beaufort and Rusty Jones (Heather) of Easley; one sister, Faye Carmen Wheeler of Laurens; and three grandchildren, Isaiah, Riley and Liam Jones.
Funeral services were held on April 13 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial followed in Westview Cemetery-Easley.

MARY ETTA P. ROSS
EASLEY — Mrs. Mary Etta Posey Ross, 70, wife of Jerry Cline Ross, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, April 13, 2019.
Born in Pickens County, the daughter of the late Calvin Posey and the late Barbara Juanita Powell Hubbard, Mrs. Ross was a graduate of Easley High School and worked for Easley Combined Utilities and Bell South and served as office manager for Dr. Buddy Thompson, for 12 years. Mary started a successful career in real estate in 1991 and was employed with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services. She was a member of Easley First United Methodist Church and the Path Finders Sunday School Class.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 51 years, are one son, J. Scott Ross (Becky) of Anderson; one daughter, Angie Ross Falls (Bill) of Greenville; one brother, Dale Posey of Easley; and five grandchildren, Jeromy Ross, Max Ross, Campbell Falls, Walker Falls and Charlie Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road with the Revs. Ken Owens and Paul Posey (Mary’s nephew) officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum of Robinson Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1-2:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

EASLEY — Charles Leonard Humphries, 79, husband of Billie Dean Humphries, passed from this life Saturday, April 13, 2019, at his home.
Born in York, he was a son of the late Fred Humphries and the late Nellie Roberts Hubbard. He was a mechanic and a veteran of the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Billie, of 33 years of the home; daughters, Dawn (Manuel) Westmoreland and Jenna Kuzma; a son, Alan (Ruth) Humphries; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Velver (John) Paysuer; and a brother, Roger (Brenda) Humphries.
Mr. Humphries was predeceased by his parents; two sons, Jeffrey Humphries and Robbie Humphries; and a sister, Marilyn Hamlin.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at New Life Baptist Church, 2691 West Blue Ridge Drive, Greenville, SC 29611, officiated by Pastor Ronnie Powell.

LIBERTY — Sam D. Lark, 77, husband of Cynthia Church Lark, passed from this life Saturday, April 13, 2019, at his home.
Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Charlie and Katherine Kyle Lark.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia, of 30 years; children, Tabitha Norwood, Jason (Tracy) Lark, Michelle Collier and Christopher Lark; 10 grandchildren, three sisters and three brothers.
Mr. Lark was predeceased by his parents and three brothers.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Pickens — Anna Stone Gravely, 86, wife of Donald Gravely, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Gravely was born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Charles Wesley and Ethel B. Williams Stone. She was retired from Cannon Memorial Hospital, where she touched many lives during her 32 years of service as a nurse. Mrs. Gravely was a member of Blue Ridge View Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Donald K. Gravely; sons, Roger Gravely (Martha) of Pickens, Barry Gravely (Debra) of Pickens, Steven Gravely (Sherry) of Easley and Allen Gravely (Cheryl) of Easley; and a daughter, Teresa Gravely of Simpsonville. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, C. Harold Stone of Bonita Springs, Fla., C. David Stone of Pickens, Roy Stone of Easley and Coy Stone of Pickens; and a sister, Rosa Lee Baker of Easley.
Funeral services were conducted on April 12 in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Stuart Houston officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

PICKENS — Buddy W. Stewart Sr., 73, husband of Juanita Britton Stewart, passed from this life Saturday, April 13, 2019.
Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late James Henry Stewart and the late Flora Jane Sentell Stewart. Mr. Stewart was retired from Ryobi and a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita, of 51 years; a son, Jamie Stewart (Donese); a daughter, Shannon Emerson (Marty); grandchildren, Natasha Stewart Naderi (Jeff), James Stewart (Katherine), Dustin Evatt, Cheyenne Gibson, Josie Vinson, Kaylee Gibson and Bristol Gibson; and great-grandchildren, Emmie Stewart, Jaxson Evatt, Chloe Medlin, Cooper Partain, Cambrie Daniel and Luke Gibson.
Mr. Stewart was predeceased by his parents; a son, B.J. Stewart; a granddaughter, Meagan Evatt; and sisters, Helen Gravley and Sarah Anders.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel, with the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Rudy Smith. Burial will be at Red Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

CLARENCE VALLEY “TINY” SIMMONS
PICKENS — Clarence Valley “Tiny” Simmons, 65, of Pickens, passed away on Monday April 8, 2019, at his home.
Born on June 17, 1953, in Pickens County, he was the son of the late George Guy and Effie Laurie Simmons. Tiny loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles and fishing on Dug Mountain in the Eastatoee area.
Surviving are his love of 37 years, Audrey Thompson; four children, Lisa Sechrist, Amy Thompson, Tommy Thompson and Misty Supplee; one brother, George Simmons (Lynn); one sister, Vida Hoxit; 10 grandchildren, Cody, Summer, Tyler, Kelsey, Trinity, Mattie, Matthew, Tabitha, Taylor and Aaron, and four great-grandchildren, Huntley, Brooklyn, Easton and Noah.
Tiny was predeceased by one brother, David Simmons.
Funeral services were held on April 12 at the Dillard Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Heath Bowie officiating.

CSM HAROLD WILLIAM RAMPEY, USA, RETIRED
EASLEY — Command Sgt. Maj. Harold W. Rampey, USA, Retired, 88, husband of Joretta Stone Rampey, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 15, 2019.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Thomas Dea Rampey and the late Sallie Pressley Rampey, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with his family. Mr. Rampey was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 21 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War as well as the Vietnam War.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 67 years, are sons, Bill Rampey (Rhonda) of Piedmont and Mark Rampey (Cathey Charlene) of Easley; a brother, Kenneth Rampey (Linda); a sister, Bobbie Pilgrim, both of Liberty; and grandsons, Nathan Rampey (Ariel)and Daniel Rampey.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2019, at the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from noon-1:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
