Easley — Evelyn Bryant Durham, 76, went home to be with her Savior on Wednesday, June 17, 2015. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, and precious Nana.

Mrs. Durham was born in Oconee County, a daughter of the late T. B. and Maude Bryant. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of West End Baptist Church in Easley.

Survivors include her husband, James C. Durham, Jr., and she was the mother of Sandy Evatt (Morris), Sharon West (Mike), Scott Durham (Kim), and the late Ronald Durham. She was Nana to Jeremy, Dustin, Parker, Brad, Blake, Desiray, Gage, Emilee, Ryan, Brandon, Evan, Justin, Griffin and Gracie and great-grandmother to Wrenn, Sophia, Mason, Kyra, Bryant, baby Evatt, Tucker and Maddie and stepmother of Jerry Durham (Tammy), Angie Smith (Aaron) and Gerald Durham (Angie). Also surviving is a sister, Violet Connelly (Reverend Jack) and a brother, Bobby Bryant.

Mrs. Durham was twice married, first to the late Bill Durham.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. June 19 at West End Baptist Church in Easley. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her loving niece, Michelle Bryant Franco, for being her caregiver for the past three years.

Memorials may be made to West End Baptist Church Youth Day Camp, 120 Missions Drive, Easley, SC 29642.

Bobby Joe Murphy

Pickens — Mr. Bobby Joe Murphy, 65, a lifelong resident of Pickens and loving husband of Doris Keith Murphy, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at his residence.

Bobby was born in Pickens County on Jan. 19, 1950, to the late James and Fannie Mae Morgan Murphy. He was a former set-up and lead man for Ryobi in Pickens and in his free time enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and attended Midway Baptist Church in Pickens.

In addition to his wife, Bobby is survived by a son, Tim Murphy of the home; two daughters, Tricia McJunkin (William) of Pickens and Cindy Whitman of Simpsonville; a brother, Roy Murphy of Pickens; and a sister, Melda Murphy of Clinton. Bobby is also survived by six grandchildren, Will, Tyler, Kayli, Chad, Eric and Spring; and one great-grandson; Jimmy.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by a brother, “Chub” Murphy.

Funeral services were held at noon on June 19 at Midway Baptist Church in Pickens. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

The family is at the residence.

Cecil H. Lesley

Pickens — Cecil Henry Lesley, 71, passed from this life Saturday, June 13, 2015, at his home.

Cecil was born in Pickens County, a son of the late Marvin and Ethel Chappell Lesley. He was retired from The Ellison Plant of Alice Manufacturing Co. and was a member of Blue Ridge View Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons Dan Lesley (Sherrie) of Easley, and Jonathan Lesley of Marietta, daughters, Dena Stidham (Ronnie) of Ardmore, Okla., and Rhonda Lesley of Easley and a step-daughter, Jan Wooten of Pickens, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Judy Gilstrap of Pickens, Ola Mae Wooten of Greenville, and a brother, Charles Lesley of Pickens.

In addition to his parents, Cecil was preceded in death by a stepson, Ronnie Bridges, and a stepdaughter, Teresa Stewart.

A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. June 22 at Blue Ridge View Baptist Church Cemetery.

Kathryn Diane Welborn

Easley — Kathryn Diane Welborn, 56, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 18, 2015.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Newsome Jr., her sons, Daniel Austin and Zachary Tyler Welborn, her brother, Dale Welborn (Sandra), her grand-daughter, April Rose Welborn, her uncles, Doyle Barker (Julia) and Kenneth Barker (Mary), and her aunts, Margaret Black and Joyce Durham (Larry).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Dorothy Welborn.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 26, at Life Church in Dacusville at 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family, care of Palmetto Mortuary in Greenville.

Timothy Clayton Lowrance

Six Mile — Timothy Clayton Lowrance, 59, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at MUSC in Charleston.

Mr. Lowrance was born in Charlotte, N.C., and was a son of Henry W. Lowrance of Mt. Holly, N.C., and the late Eleanor Kimrey Lowrance. He was a retired warehouse coordinator with Duke Energy and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife, Deborah Payne Lowrance of the home; two sons, Jason Scott (Georgia) Lowrance of Liberty and Boyce Derek (Christy Cowart) Lowrance of Columbia, daughter, Kadence N. Lowrance of the home; brother, Ripon Lowrance of Belmont, N.C.; grandchildren, Hunter, Zakkary, Johnathan and Jacob Lowrance.

In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by a son, Steven C. Lowrance; and a brother, Gregory Scott Lowrance.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25, in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central, with the Rev. Don Milstead officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Central.

The family will receive friends from 10-10:50 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Lonnie J. Lesley

Easley — Lonnie Joe Lesley, 56, of Adger Road, husband of Teresa Lesley, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Greenville, he was the son of Bobby Joe Lesley (Betty) of Liberty and Peggy Holcombe of Easley.

Lonnie was a 1978 graduate of Easley High School and the South Carolina Fire Academy. He was retired from the Easley Fire Department after 25 years of service and served part time at the Croswell Fire Department. He also was a fire instructor, fire marshall, owned and operated S&L Masonry and Firefighter Backflow Testing and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are his children, Lonnie “Mark” Lesley (Hope) of Easley, Scott Boothe (Bethany) of Easley (formerly of Sioux Falls, S.D.) Jeremiah Boothe (Lindsey) of Six Mile, Adam Boothe of Easley; a special son, J.P. Foster (Alicea) of Easley; two grandchildren, Lena Lesley and Landon Boothe both of Easley; two sisters, Keila Mize (Tony) of Walhalla, and Tracy Parker (Matt) of Easley; and three stepbrothers, Johnny Valentine, Ron Arrowood and Larry Arrowood (Lisa) all of Easley.

A service to celebrate Lonnie’s life will be held at 10 a.m. June 24 at Rock Springs Baptist Church. The entombment will follow in the Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum at Robinson Memorial Gardens, with honors presented by the Easley Fire Department.

Pallbearers will be J.P. Foster, Aaron Gasque, Judd Gilstrap, Travis Gantt, Stan Chapman, Jimmy Wyatt, Kevin Porter and John “Red” Marshall.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Easley Fire Department, Crosswell Fire Department and the surrounding fire departments in the Upstate.
