WILLIAM JAMES ABLES
SENECA — William James Ables, born on July 29, 1940, to the late Olen Grandbery Ables and Keifer Whitfield Ables of Oconee County, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 26, 2020.
Mr. Ables was retired from Duke Energy after 29 years.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Ables; a daughter, Sheri Ables; two sons, Jamie Ables and Wesley Ables (Zephlin Griffin); a sister, Dot Macijewski; a brother, Lane Ables; and a grandson, Grayson Levi.
A graveside service was held at Oconee Memorial Park on June 30.
The family is at the home of Sheri Ables.

JAMES COLIE STANCIL
PICKENS — Colie Stancil, 86, loving father, and loving husband of Ella Mae Hunter Stancil, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his family.
A native of Pickens County, he was born on Oct. 12, 1933, to the late Jesse Houston Stancil and Mary Alma Rothell Stancil.
Mr. Stancil attended Jones Avenue Baptist Church in Easley. Colie was an avid horseman and animal lover. He was inducted into the South Carolina Walking Horse Hall of Fame and was a member of numerous horse associations.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Stancil; two daughters, Melody Mauldin (Ronnie) and Mona Manley, both of Pickens; one grandson, Casey Chavis; and two sisters, Shirley Kelley of Norris and Dale Martin (Dave) of Clemson.
Colie was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Bonnie Boggs and Bernice Smith; and three brothers, Jake Stancil, Heyward Stancil and Melvin Stancil.
Graveside services were held on July 3 at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

MILDRED L. WILLIAMS
EASLEY — Mrs. Mildred Lesley Williams, 92, wife of the late Charles Mauldin Williams, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late John Jackson Lesley and the late Blanche Hughey Lesley, Mrs. Williams was a graduate of Easley High School, attended the University of South Carolina and graduated from Central Wesleyan College, where she received her bachelor’s degree in education. She retired from Forest Acres Elementary School, where she taught for 17 years, and was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church.
Mildred loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are a son, Charles “Jack” Jackson Williams of Easley; a daughter Gaye Williams Cantrell (Stan) of Easley; four grandchildren, Lindsay Yon, Jessy Limbaugh, Kelsey Frazier and Jaclyn Payne; and three great-grandchildren, Foster, Sylvie and Liam Yon.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Williams was predeceased by a brother, Joe Lesley; and two sisters, Jean Bush and Louise Walker.
Funeral services were held on July 3 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.

SANDY SPEARMAN
LIBERTY — Sandy Henley Spearman, 55, of Liberty, died suddenly on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at his home.
Born in Easley, he was a son of Judy Roper Patterson of Liberty and the late William Henley Spearman. He was a machinist at Imperial Die Casting. He loved his family and enjoyed working on cars. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two daughters, Sabrina Spearman of Liberty and Crystal Whitney of Lakewood, Wash.; three sons, Sammy Spearman of Liberty, Matthew Whitaker of Clemson and Tristan Spearman of Anderson; a sister, Marie Alexander of Liberty; and six grandchildren.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elbert and Viola Chapman Roper.
Graveside services to honor the life of Mr. Spearman were held on July 3 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery.
