Louise Y. Blackston
Easley — Louise Younce Blackston, 87, widow of the late Allen L. Blackston, passed from this life on Monday Jan. 23, 2017.
Mrs. Blackston was born in Anderson County, a daughter of the late Perry B. and Montee Seawright Younce. She was retired from The Dunean Plant of J. P. Stevens Company. She was a member of Tabor United Methodist Church and attended Trinity Church of God.
Survivors include daughters, Linda Gail Wallace (Dan) of Huntersville, N.C., Darlene Blackston of the home, Debbie Babb (Tony) of Anderson, and a step-son Tommy Blackston (Donna) of Star. Also surviving are grandchildren Chris McSweeney (Amber), T. J. McSweeney (Jennifer), Drew Wallace and fiancée Leila, Kayla Blackston and fiancée Steven and A. J. Babb and fiancée Ivy; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are sisters, Barbara Bryant and Ruth Michaels.
Funeral services were held Jan. 26 in the Dillard Funeral Home chapel with burial following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Easley.

Dot M. Adams
Easley — Mary Dorothy Moore Adams, 91, of Parkway Drive, wife of the late Charles E. Adams, Sr., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017.
Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Mary Pauline Rankin Moore.
Mrs. Adams was retired from Cannon Hospital. She was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church and the Gleeners/Golden Circle Sunday School Class.
“Mama Dot” loved her Lord and family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Charles E. “Chuck” Adams, Jr. (Rachel) of Pickens and Linda Trotter (Mack) of Easley; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dalton Moore.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Johnny Eugene Adams; a granddaughter, Tami Hemphill; two great-granddaughters, Casey and Cheyenne Cox; and a brother, Jack Moore.
Funeral services were held Jan. 27 at Glenwood Baptist Church, with burial following in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

John A. Martin
Easley — John Arthur Martin, 83, of 220 Woodfield Drive, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017 at Manna Health and Rehab in Pickens.
Born in Birmingham, Ala., Mr. Martin was the son of the late William Roy and Frankie Nuckols Martin. He graduated from Fayette High School in 1951, and he received a B.S. degree in Industrial Management from Auburn University in 1958. Following his work as Plant Manager with GTE (now Verizon) in Huntsville, Ala., he moved to Easley and retired from ECP in Liberty.
Mr. Martin was a member of Easley First United Methodist Church where he sang in the Chancel Choir for over 25 years. In addition, he was a member of the Mt. Olivet Sunday School Class and the Finance Committee for years. A U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Era, he also was a member of the American Legion Post 52. Mr. Martin served Meals on Wheels and he enjoyed exercising at the YMCA.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Fallin Martin of the home; a son, John A. Martin, Jr. (Manuela) of Durham, N.C.; two daughters, Mary Frances Martin of Grovetown, Ga., and Teresa Martin Nash of Easley; four grandchildren, Mary Ann Crews (Giarred), Kendrick Martin Baxter (Carmen), Austin Nelson Nash and Viviana Erika Martin; and one great-grandchild, Carter Davis.
Memorial services were held Jan. 28 in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Dr. Rodney Powell officiating. The Mt. Olivet Sunday School Class of Easley First United Methodist Church will serve as the escort of honor.

Carolyn Hunnicutt
Easley — Carolyn Eugenia Hunnicutt, 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017.
Born in Pickens County, the daughter of the late Charles Garvin Hunnicutt and the late Edith Allgood Hunnicutt, Carolyn was a graduate of Easley High School and attended the South Eastern Institute of Chapel Hill, N.C. She was a former Executive Secretary with the Easley Chamber of Commerce for 13 years, served as a Pickens County Social Services Clerk for 25 years and a Pickens County Health Department Clerk for six years. She was the longest living member of Easley First Baptist Church of 84 years, a charter member of the Business Professional Club and the S.C. Secretaries Association.
Surviving are a nephew, William Alfred Hunnicutt (Judy) of Whitewright, Texas; and a large host of friends and church family. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was predeceased by a brother, Charles Edwin Hunnicutt; a nephew, James C. Hunnicutt; and a niece, Susan E. Hunnicutt.
Funeral services were held Jan. 27 at Easley First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. John Adams officiating, and entombment following in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum.

William J. Lantgios, Jr.
CentraL — William John Lantgios, Jr., 60, husband of Karen Cox Lantgios died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017.
Born in Detroit, Mich., he was the son of the late Ophelia Edith Cobb and William J. Lantgios, Sr. Bill was a retired commercial truck driver and had a relationship with Jesus. He loved woodworking, camping, family, the beach and playing the guitar.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his son, William Matthew (Kayla) Lantgios of Spokane Valley, Wash.; daughters, Jennifer (Tim) Marchbanks of Anderson, Jessica (Andrew) Brawner of Clemson and Sarah (Timothy) Drummond of Pendleton; brothers, Larry (Kathy) Lantgios of Lavonia, Mich., George (Nancy) Lantgios of Pinckney, Mich., James (Linda) Lantgios of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Nick (Karen) Lantgios of Lavonia, Mich.; sisters, Christine (Tim) Zortman of Garden City, Mich., Connie (Phil) Wendecker and Mary Lantgios both of Lavonia, Mich.; brother-in-law, Bob Barduca of Canton, Mich.; grandchildren, Andrew Marchbanks, Jason Godsey, Hunter Marchbanks, Justin Godsey, Jacob Drummond, Hannah Lantgios, Jackson Drummond and Kate Drummond.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Martha Gail Barduca.
Memorial services were held Jan. 28 in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central.

Jerry Wayne Sanders, Jr.
Pickens — Jerry Wayne Sanders, Jr., age 37, husband of Yvonne Verdun Sanders went to be with the Lord Saturday Jan. 21, 2017.
Mr. Sanders was born in Easley son of Barbara Jean Wilson Sanders of Pickens, and Jerry Wayne Sanders, Sr. of Marietta.
Jerry enjoyed playing his guitar, singing and coaching softball. He loved working on cars and loved his family dearly.
Survivors include his wife, parents, three daughters Destiny Sanders of Pickens, Brooke Sanders of Ohio, Hazelynn Sanders of Pickens; one son, Avery Sanders of Pickens; two sisters Regina Sanders of Pickens, Annette McCall (Randy) of Pickens; one brother; Ricky Dale Sanders (Jessie) of Pickens.
Jerry was predeceased by his grandparents; Grace Cannon Wilson and J.B. Wilson, Lilly and Robert Sanders.
Services were held Jan. 28 at Landmark Baptist Church in Easley.

James B. Jenkins
Easley — James B. Jenkins, 84, husband of the late Shirley Ann Pearson Jenkins, passed from this life on Friday Jan. 27, 2017.
Mr. Jenkins was born in Greensboro, N.C., son of the late Allender Wilkes and Annie Sue Blake Jenkins. He was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church in Easley.
Survivors include his daughter Leigh Ann Revis (Mike) of Easley; and grandchildren Joey Revis and Anna Revis. He is also survived by sisters Juanita Gardner and Dorothy Thomason.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his son James Blake Jenkins, Jr. a granddaughter Amanda Brooke Revis and brothers Richard Jenkins, Jerry Jenkins, and Allender W. “Bub” Jenkins
Funeral services were held Jan. 29 in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens, with burial following at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

Peggy Gray
Liberty — Peggy Crumpton Madden Gray, 82, wife of Gary W. Gray, passed from this life on Friday Jan. 27, 2017.
Mrs. Gray was born in Pelzer, a daughter of the late Feaster and Lona Bates Crumpton. She was retired from ECP in Liberty and she was a member of Rice’s Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Gary W. Gray; son, James Madden (Sara) of Greenville; step-daughters, Sharon King (Tommy) of Liberty, June Coleman (Sam) of Easley, and Tammy Coleman (Richard) of Liberty; a sister Dorothy Peace (Arnold) of Easley; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gray was preceded in death by her first husband Chester Madden, four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held Jan. 30 in the funeral home chapel with burial following at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Barbara Chandler Maxwell Robinson
CLEMSON — Barbara Chandler Maxwell Robinson born June 24, 1921, completed her 95.6 trips around the sun on Jan. 28, 2017 and is rejoicing with her family and friends who completed their journeys before her.
The daughter of James Thomas and Martha Lillian Busha Maxwell of Dewy Rose, Ga., she took the path less traveled by women of her day. Growing up on the farm she enrolled in the traditional male dominated agriculture classes at West Georgia. She finished her first year with the highest averages in the agriculture class. She then moved on and became an air traffic controller working in several airports throughout the southeast. While working at Spartanburg airport she met her husband Gilbert C Robinson, a geologist with the TVA and soon to be professor and founder of Ceramic Engineering at Clemson University. The years passed quickly as she raised three sons and a daughter in Clemson. In addition to her children there were many pet dogs at her side through the years. She was a member of the Andrew Pickens Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Once the children were older she returned to work for 17 years with the National Council of Engineering Examiner’s.
She is survived by her children; Gilbert Chase Robinson Jr., Chandler Charles Robinson, Timothy Maxwell Robinson, Barbara Anne Robinson Price.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband; Gilbert C Robinson, her sisters; Sara Hester Maxwell Koch, Martha Lillian Maxwell, and Betty Turner Storey.
There will be a brief burial service at 12:20 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3 in Woodland Cemetery (Cemetery Hill) Clemson. Followed by a 1 p.m. Service at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Clemson. Following the service there will be a reception and visitation in the Parish Hall.

Mildred A. Powell
Easley — Mrs. Mildred Alexander Powell, 82, of Thistlewood Drive, wife of the late Cleo Newton Powell, passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017 at the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.
Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late M.C Alexander and Jeanette Alexander Kelley.
Mrs. Powell was retired from Sangamo (Cornell Dubilier) and the Pickens County School District. She was a member of Blue Ridge View Baptist Church. She loved her Lord, family and working in her yard.
Surviving are her children, Randall Powell (Lynn) of Liberty, Glenn Powell (Karen) of Easley and daughter, Kathy Powell Wade (Donnie) of Easley; grandchildren, Nikki Wade, Josh Wade (Erin), Zachary Powell, Shannon Ellenburg and Ashley Smith (Travis); great-grandchildren, Kay, Adelynn, Kambree, and Nevaeh; sisters, Elizabeth Nix (Harrison) and Gail Bennett (Bobby) all of Easley, and Evelyn Bowie (Tojo) of Pickens; and brothers, Carlos Alexander (Ethylene) and Edward Alexander all of Easley, Calvin Alexander and Michael Alexander (Cheryl) all of Liberty.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Powell was predeceased by her brother, Matthew Alexander, and her step-father, Julius Kelley.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at Blue Ridge View Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
