Easley football coach steps down

EASLEY — There was plenty of hope for the Easley Green Wave football team entering coach Caleb King’s first season at the helm of the program.
The 35-year-old King was coming off a 13-1 record at his alma mater, Havelock High School, where he developed one of the best offenses in North Carolina.
But following an up-and-down 3-7 season, that hope has vanished following his abrupt resignation, as he stepped down from the position earlier this month, according to school district spokesman John Eby.
