EPD: Teacher tied student’s hand to shoe
EASLEY — A former Pickens County elementary school teacher was arrested last week after being charged with assault and battery in an incident involving a student.
According to an Easley Police Department incident report, the incident was reported Oct. 5 at West End Elementary School on Pelzer Highway.
Jordan Katherine McAbee, 24, is charged with third-degree assault and battery, according to an arrest warrant.
The warrant claims McAbee secured a child’s hand to one of her shoes with a string “without consent of the victim or victim’s guardians.”
According to school district spokesman John Eby, McAbee is no longer a district employee.
