EASLEY — Anne Kilpatrick and Mildred Brewer, members of the Fort Prince George Chapter National Society of the American Revolution, received special recognition at the 125th anniversary DAR State Conference, recently held in Columbia.

Kilpatrick, Regent of the Fort Prince George Chapter NSDAR, was honored with the DAR South Carolina Chapter Regent of the Year award.

According to the instruction sheet, “A good Chapter Regent inspires and leads chapter members to accomplish good work. The work reported is not just accomplishments of the Regent. It is also the accomplishment of the chapter members.”

There are nine other criteria for the selection. Nominations for the award can be made by any of the 69 South Carolina chapters. A panel of judges select and vote by a blind ballot, not knowing who
