PICKENS — A woman was killed in a single-vehicle wreck Friday night near Pickens.

According to Pickens County coroner Kandy Kelley, 23-year-old Alanah Elizabeth Holcombe, 23, of 341 Autumn Drive in Pickens, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

South Carolina Highway Patrol officials said Holcombe was the passenger in a vehicle driven by Timothy Adam Hester Sr., 28, of Liberty, who was injured in the wreck and transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital.

The wreck happened shortly after 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Praters Creek Road and Allgood Bridge Road.

According to a highway patrol spokesman, the driver disregarded a stop sign on Praters Creek Road, traveled down a steep drive, overturned and struck a building.

Neither of the vehicle’s occupants were wearing a seatbelt, officials said.
