LHS investigation turned over to law enforcement

LIBERTY — According to a release from School District of Pickens County communications director Julie Thompson, the investigation into Liberty High School’s financial records has been turned over to police.
Thompson said the Liberty Police Department and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) are handling the situation.
“The district is cooperating with the agencies in the investigation,” Thompson said.
LHS principal Randy Gilstrap and secretary Buea DeNard were placed on administrative leave after a random audit of the school’s records began last Friday.
