LHS wrestlers advance to 2A state tournament
LIBERTY — The Liberty High School wrestling team had four upper state champions and seven people advancing to the state tournament in Anderson.
Upper state champions during last weekend’s action were Jacob Rogers, Cole Murphy, Lucas Bates and Hunter Powell.
Runner-ups in their weight classes were Jack Brissey and Noah Kelly. McKinnon Stewart also advanced to the tournament, placing fourth in his weight class.
The tournament will run Friday evening and all day Saturday at the Anderson Civic Center. Additionally, the Red Devils finished the season as Class 2A upper state champions and state runners-up, losing a close match to Bamberg on Feb. 10.
