Liberty plans annual fall festival
LIBERTY — The city of Liberty will host its second annual Fall for Liberty event this Saturday.
More than 100 vendors will join the festivities, which will include hayrides, train rides, inflatables for the kids, arts and crafts of all types, a cake walk, a large variety of food vendors with everything from ice cream to shrimp and grits and much more. There will also be a chili cook-off.
The event will begin at 10 a.m. with the presentation of the colors by the Liberty High School JROTC. At 10:30 a.m., Jack Roper will perform a magic show, then at 11:30 a.m. the bluegrass music begins. Bands include Shades of Blue, the Smoke Shifters, Slik Nickel, and the day will end with the Steam Railers joined by the Young Appalachian Musicians (YAMs).
“Our Festival and Events Committee has been working hard to bring our town a great event,” Mayor Michael Sheriff said. “Come to Liberty for a beautiful fall day and enjoy all that our great town has to offer.”
