Lions disappointed with 2017 results

Central — The 2017 season is in the books for the Daniel Lions, and for the Lions it will looked back upon as a season of missed opportunity.
Daniel finished the season 2-9, with wins in the regular-season opener against Berkeley and the regular-season finale against Pickens before succumbing to the Greer Yellow Jackets in a regular-season rematch in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs.
The Lions had high expectations entering the season after finishing with a a 6-4 record in 2016.
Much of the core of the team remained intact, but the loss of key seniors like Miles Turmon, Brandon Peppers and Malik Watt was a major hurdle to overcome in the second year under head coach Jeff Fruster. The Lions also lost two-year starting quarterback Ben Batson
