Lions use second-half surge to beat Walhalla, stay perfect

WALHALLA — After the previous week’s heroic comeback against Wren, the Daniel Lions looked poised to succumb to a big-game hangover against the Walhalla Razorbacks on Friday night.

The Razorbacks game-planned well for Daniel in the first half, keeping the ball away from the Lions’ explosive offense and pounding them on the ground to take a 20-13 lead into the half.

Things changed in a big way from there, with the Lions opening up the second half with a touchdown and interception as they stifled the Razors and found their groove through the air for a 41-27 victory.

“There are no easy wins in this region,” Daniel coach Jeff Fruster said. “This team continues to show me that they have so much resolve. Nothing is ever too good or too bad
