McDonald’s in Pickens held the ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new facility on Tuesday evening with state and local dignitaries, employees, families and friends. Officials also dedicated a flag and flag pole at the restaurant in honor of Pickens native Barrett Austin, who lost his life in Afghanistan. A bronze plaque on the front of the new location honors Austin’s military service. The new McDonald’s will be open to the public this Thursday.
