MOW to hold membership drive for new senior center
LIBERTY — On Thursday, Pickens County Meals on Wheels will hold a membership drive for its new senior center.
The event will take place at the Rosewood Center, at 419 E. Main St. in Liberty. Music, games and fellowship will take place between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Membership is open to all residents in Pickens County over 60 years of age.
On July 1, Pickens County Meals on Wheels (PCMOW) expanded its programs and service offerings to include not only home-delivered meals, but also congregate meals and activities, including health promotion and disease prevention education.
The center offers lunchtime meals and a variety of activities Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Activities include social hour, games, structured exercise classes, and nutrition education. Activities change monthly.

Pickens County Meals on Wheels is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, that exists to combat the effects of hunger, loneliness and isolation on those living in Pickens County and provide a lifeline through the use of caring volunteers.
