Bebe K. Anderson

Clemson — Bebe Kathryn Coffey Anderson, 83, of 105 Robin Street and wife of LtCol Ret. Robert A. (Bob) Anderson, died Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at her residence.
Born in Black Rock, Ark., she was a daughter of the late Leslie Coffey, Sr. and Kathryn McCain Coffey.  Bebe was a graduate of Arkansas State University and was a retired employee of the Clemson University Athletic Department.  She was a member of Church of Christ in Clemson.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Donald Anderson and wife, Lynn and Robert Anderson and wife, Isabel all of Powdersville; two daughters, Kathryn Anderson Wilson and husband, Steve of Durango, Colo., and Kari Anderson Tankersley and husband, Ken of Pendleton; grandchildren, Christopher Anderson, Andrew Anderson, Michael Anderson, Sara Anderson Askey, Rob Anderson, Jonathan Anderson, Alex Wilson, Stephanie Wilson and Maxwell Wilson; and 3 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Leslie Coffey, Jr. and a sister, Loris Marshall.
Memorial services were held at 6 p.m., Saturday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Road, Central, SC 29630.

Lake E. Gillespie
Liberty — Lake Gillespie, 91, of Liberty, died, Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born in Pickens County, Mr. Gillespie was a son of the late Ervin Lee and Lillian Finley Gillespie. He retired from Richmond Gear and was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, from March 22, 1941 to October 17, 1945 in the field artillery in France and Germany. Mr. Gillespie was wounded in combat and received four Battle Stars and was a Purple Heart recipient.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Hazel Hammond Gillespie of the home; two daughters, Kathy Clardy of Liberty and Joan Clardy (David) of Liberty; a son Keith Gillespie (Gaye) of Liberty; a brother, Bruce Gillespie; three grandchildren, Paula Bagwell, Ashley Turner and Bronson Gillespie.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gillespie was predeceased by a sister, Katherine Gillespie; two brothers, Roy T. Gillespie and Kenneth Gillespie and a son-in-law Paul Clardy.
Funeral services were 3 p.m. Friday, April 15 at Flat Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Davis and the Rev. Douglas Goss officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Norma Watson
Liberty — Norma Ellis Watson, 67, of 129 Meadowbrook Drive, died Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Wales, Great Britain she was a daughter of the late Victor and Louise Lynch Ellis. She attended the Eric Douglas School of Modeling in London, England, and later in life she loved to crochet and write.
Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Larry Joe Watson of the home; three daughters, Verna Esposito of Holmes, N.Y., Vironica Watson of Liberty, and Lori Moore of Eatonton, Ga.; two sisters, Brenda Gravener of England, and Lynn Pauly of Omaha, Neb.; 12 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a daughter, Lynda April Watson Green.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Watson were 11 a.m. Friday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial was at Liberty Memorial Gardens.

Milton F. Childress
Easley — Milton Forrest Childress, 74, husband of Peggy Snipes Childress, died Monday, April 11, 2011 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, N.C.
Milton was born in Easley a son of the late Arthur and Maude Nix Childress. He was a retired real estate salesperson.
Survivors include his wife Peggy Snipes Childress and his son Anthony Childress and his wife Sonia of Martinez, Ga. and two grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers Ed Childress (Florence), Billy Childress, and a sister Shelby Bagwell.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, April 14 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home, Pickens. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

Ned W. Crawford
Pickens — Ned Wallace Crawford, 71, husband of Dorothy Messer Crawford, died April 12, 2011.
Born in Haywood County, N.C., he was the son of the late Ned Wallace and Emma Dotson Crawford. He was a certified welder and part of the teams constructing Oconee Nuclear Station and the USS Enterprise. He was a member of the Plumber and Pipefitters Union #351.
Ned was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He adored his grandchildren and liked to play practical jokes on everyone. His humorous ways and laughter will never be forgotten.
Surviving in addition to his wife Dot, are his children, Vickie Jo (Robert) Sutton; Gregory Randall (Wanda) Crawford; Carla Ann Hendricks; and Brian Keith (Vicki) Crawford; his grandchildren, Ashley Sutton; David Sutton; Casey Hendricks; MiKayla Hendricks; Clancy Crawford; and Marshall Crawford; his great grandson, Layne Wister Hendricks; his brother, Johnnie (Clara) Crawford; and his sister, Elizabeth James.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 15 at 3p.m. in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Leland Jennings
Easley — James Leland Jennings, 65, of 1675 Dacusville Highway, died Friday, April 15, 2011, at his home.
Born in Pickens County, the son of Pearl Masters Jennings of Easley and the late James Fant Jennings, Mr. Jennings retired from Ryobi Products and was a member of Wayside Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a daughter, Emily Jennings Pressley of Easley; a sister, Elvira Lavonia James of Greenville; two grandchildren, Ethan Mathis and Blake Mathis; and a step-granddaughter, Adrian Gilstrap.
Funeral services were 3:30 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial followed in Cedar Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.

Dorothy Blackston
Easley — Dorothy Ferguson Blackston, 88, of Easley, wife of William Carl Blackston Sr., of the home, died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Abbeville County, Mrs. Blackston was a daughter of the late Roy Cameron and Dolly Lee Billue Ferguson. She was a school teacher for 35 years and a member of Crosswell Baptist Church
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Carl Blackston, Jr. (Donna) of Easley; two sisters, Frances Freeman and Carolyn Page; a brother Bill Ferguson; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Roy Ferguson, Jr.
Memorial services were 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 19 at Crosswell Baptist Church.

Sylvia C. Ward
Pickens — Sylvia Gail Coggins Ward, 55, of 1549 Midway Road, died Monday, April 18, 2011 at her home.
Sylvia was born in Greenville County, a daughter of the late Clayton William Coggins, Sr. and the late Mary Emma Little Coggins. She was owner and operator of Dogwood Hills Puppies and Pet Grooming and she was a member of Westwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 23 years Wallace Maurice Ward of the home, son Danny Lee Rhymer (Shauna) of Columbia, daughter Cathy Jo Turner Lostraglio (Donald) of Pickens and step children Melvin Maurice Ward of New Orleans, La. and Angela Marie Page of Jacksonville, Fla.. Also surviving are brothers Clayton William Coggins, Jr. of Marietta and David Edward Coggins of Dacusville, and sisters Lillie Colleen Sims and Sharon Levelle Gosnell both of Dacusville and 10 grandchildren. Also her many pets and rescued animals.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens. Burial will follow at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.

Carol Myers
Liberty — Carol Myers, 51, of 22 Boggs Drive, died, Sunday after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in New Brunswick, N.J., she was the wife of Richard E. Myers of the home and the daughter of Ann Donnerstag Butler of Greenville. She was the study hall teacher at Liberty High School and loved cooking, spending time with her grandchildren and spreading the word of God. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a daughter, Allison Smith and her husband Tim of Liberty; a son, Derrick Myers and his wife Shanna of Easley; a brother, Walter Werner, Jr. of Duncan; a sister-in-law, Mary Margaret Phillips of Pickens; and three grandchildren, Reece and Noah Smith and Preston Myers.
Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Myers were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at East Side Baptist Church. Burial was at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Hazel Ann Dillon
Easley — Hazel Ann Dillon, 91, of Easley, died Saturday, April 16, 2011 at her home.
Born in New York City, Miss Dillon was a daughter of the late Philip Ward and Fenetta Dillon. She worked for Pan American Airlines as an executive for 40 years and was a member of St. Matthias Lutheran Church. She loved traveling, keeping fit, singing, dancing, and most of all, caring for the one’s she loved.
Surviving are a brother, Royal Dillon and wife Lois; sister, Perla Pena; a grandson; Phil Pena Verbruggen; and beloved nieces, Nanci Pena and Tanya Dukhie, Bronwyn Des;Anges, Ingrid Morrow and Dominique Scott.
In addition to her parents, Miss Dillon was predeceased by two sisters, Phyllis Ross and Helen Mack.
A memorial service will be held 11a.m. Saturday, April 23 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road.

Cindy Harrington
Pickens — Cynthia Marie Darty Harrington, 42, died Saturday, April 16, 2011.
Cindy was born in Jasper, Ala. and leaves behind her husband Bruce Camerun Harrington.
Surviving in addition to her husband Bruce are her children Patrick Darty, Felicia Byrd, and Tiffany Darty. She also leaves behind her special pet, Scooby Doo.
Bruce will gather with friends to say a few words and have prayer at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 22 at the pond at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
