Lois Baus Beckett
Easley — Mrs. Lois Baus Beckett, 80, of 158 Pine Mountain Dr, wife of the late William R. Beckett died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012 at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born May 4, 1932 in Ewing Township, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Margaret Andrews Baus. Mrs. Beckett was a retired clerk for the township of Hamilton, N.J., was a member of the Moving Forward Group and a member of Easley Church of God. She loved her family and lived life to the fullest.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Beckett (Debbie) of Eatonville, Wash. and William Beckett, Jr. of Easley; daughter, Karen Lowdermilk, of Easley; sister, Jane Choma; step-brother, James Donnelly; grandchildren, John Lowdermilk, Jr, Deanna Mann, Melissa Pelletier, Amanda Corwin, Samantha Beckett and Kyle Neumann; great-grandchildren, Caleb Lowdermilk, Tate Lowdermilk, Mattison Tenry, Brenner Tenry, Adalyn Mann and Jean-O Pelletier.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her dear friend, Cleo Watson.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Burial followed in Robinson Memorial Gardens.

RB Revis
Easley — Mr. RB Revis, 80, of 533 Old Cedar Rock Rd, husband of Linda Bailey Revis died Monday, Aug. 27, 2012 at Hosanna Health and Rehab.
Born Feb. 29, 1932 in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Monroe and Mary Swords Revis Bagwell. Mr. Revis was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War receiving the National Defense Medal. He worked in textiles and enjoyed growing and selling produce.
In addition to his wife of 33 years, he is survived by several loving children, grandchildren and extended family members.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Burial followed in Robinson Memorial Gardens.

John Elmer Crowe

Easley — Mr. John Elmer Crowe, 91, of 300 Highland Rd, husband of the late Frances Nix Crowe died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012 at Rainey Hospice House.
Born Sept. 24, 1920 in Oconee County, he was the son of the late John and Ella Taylor Crowe. Mr. Crowe was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII and received the Purple Heart. He retired from Rhodes Furniture and Mutual Home Store with 50 years of combined service. Mr. Crowe was a former President of the Easley Uptown Merchants Associations and a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by his son, J. Steve Crowe (Teresa); grandchildren, Kevin Crowe (Kim) and Kala Crowe; and great-grandchildren, Greyson, Campbell and Weston Crowe.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Olin Crowe; sisters, Ressie Nix and Christine Towe.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1 at Rock Springs Baptist Church. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Honorary escorts were the Disciples of Christ Sunday School Class.

Richard “Uncle Dick”
Blystone

Liberty — Richard Reynolds “Uncle Dick” Blystone, 85, of 341 Gillespie Road, died Tuesday Aug. 28, 2012 at Cannon Memorial Hospital in Pickens.
Born in Greensburg, Pa., he was the husband of Loretta G. Rearick Blystone of the home and a son of the late William Reynolds and Eleanor Middlekauff Blystone. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired with over 20 years service. He later retired from the Pennsylvania Turnpike as well as from Liberty High School where he was well thought of by students and faculty alike. He also enjoyed playing Santa Claus for over 40 years. He was also a member and a deacon of Calumet Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Linda Blystone of Spring City, Pa.; a son, R. Kenneth Blystone of the home; two sisters, Della Susko and Janet Blystone both of Liberty; and a brother, Ronald Blystone of Camp Hill, Pa.
Funeral services for Mr. Blystone were held Friday morning at 10 a.m. in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial at Limerick Garden of Memories in Limerick, Pa. will be held at a later date.

Kyle Durham Brannock
Pickens – Kylan “Kyle” Scott Durham Brannock, 23, of 262 Concord Church Road, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Easley he was a son of Mickey Wesley Durham of Six Mile and Eve Whitlock Sheriff of Pickens. He was a member of Secona Baptist Church, and during his free time he loved to be outdoors and spend time with his friends and family.
Surviving in addition to his mother and father are his great grandfather who raised him, Loyd Breazeale of the home; two sisters, Tiffany C. Durham of Six Mile, and Haley Brannock of Easley; his grandmother, Anna Rose Garrett of Pickens; two nieces, Tiffany Jade Smith and Mya Manley; his fiancé, Tabitha McDonald of Pickens.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Casey and Courtney Brannock, his grandfather, Terry “Butch” Whitlock, and two great grandmothers, Marie Breazeale and Eva Whitlock.
Funeral services to honor Kyle’s life were 3 p.m. Saturday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial was at Westview Cemetery in Liberty.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials in Kyle’s honor may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

John Johnston
Greenville – John Thomas Johnston, 54, of 106 LaSalle Lane, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012.
Born in Pickens County, the son of Mary Littleton Johnston Waters of Easley and the late Thomas Hampton Johnston, Mr. Johnston retired from the textile industry and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two daughters, Kristy J. Leopard (Justin) of Powdersville, and Angie Johnston of the home; a step-daughter, April Cummings of Greenville; and two sisters, Linda Alexander (Charles) of Easley and Wanda Carlisle of Atlanta.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial followed in Norris Cemetery.

William “Danny” Thomas *********
Easley – William “Danny” Thomas, 61, of Easley, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012.
Born in Greenville County, a son of the late William “Bill” and Virginia Lusk Thomas, Mr. Thomas owned and operated Thomas Produce and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Easley. He had served with the U.S. Marine Corps.
Surviving are three uncles, Harold and Mike Lusk, both of Easley, and Jack Thomas of Simpsonville; three aunts, Mary Cartee of Liberty, Barbara Parrish of Raleigh, N.C. and Yvonne Lusk of Santa Fe, N.M.
Graveside services were 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2 at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Sandra Lee Smith Thomas
Gabriel Daniel Smith
Easley – Sandra Lee Michelle Smith Thomas, 42, and her son, Gabriel Daniel Smith, 15, both of Saluda Dam Road Easley, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012 at their home.
Sandra was born in Oswego, N.Y., a daughter of the late Harry M. Howland and the late Caroline M. Baldwin Smith. She was owner and operator of Doggie Stylin in Simpsonville. She was a member of Marathon Church.
Daniel was born in Easley and was a freshman at Easley High School. He was active in sports as a member of the wrestling team and junior varsity football. He was a member of Marathon Church.
Sandra and Daniel are survived by her brothers Lloyd Smith of Phoenix, Ariz., Clayton Smith, David Smith, Kim Smith all of Easley her brother Eddie.
They were preceded in death by Sandra’s brother Charles Smith.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3 at Marathon Church, 315 Roe Road, Greenville, SC 29611 Greg Ramsey officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens in Pickens.

Brenda A. Owen
Pickens – Mrs. Brenda Arnold Owen, 54, wife of Farol William Owen, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012 at her home.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Joe and Pearline Nabors Arnold, Mrs. Owen was a retired CNA and a member of Maranatha Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of the home, are four brothers, Joe Arnold, Jr. of Liberty, Freddy Arnold of Easley, James Arnold of Six Mile and John Dale Arnold of Pelzer; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Owen was predeceased by two sisters, Jean Arnold and Susan Brison.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4 at Maranatha Baptist Church. Burial followed at Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.

Truman W. Davis ************
Boiling Springs – Truman Wilson Davis, 82, father, grandfather, great grandfather and loving husband of Myria Crenshaw Davis, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012 at his home.
Mr. Davis was born in Pickens County, a son of the late Hobart Henry and Katomah Crenshaw Davis. He was retired from the trucking department of Milliken and Company following 36 years service and he was a member of Evangel Cathedral in Spartanburg. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Davis found joy deer hunting with his boys and grand boys. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Myria of the home, sons Sammy Davis (Susan) of Pickens and Michael Davis (Tracie) of Inman and daughters Linda Knight (Steve) of Lugoff, Delta Cartee (Eddie) of Commerce, Ga., and Lavone Davis of Spartanburg. Brothers and sisters include Norman Davis, Roselle Anderson, Doyle Davis, Inez Duncan, Donald Davis, Evon Edens, Juanita Burgess, Hoyle Davis and Douglas Davis. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by a sister, Avanelle Craine.
Funeral services were conducted 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens with the Rev. Wyatt Brown and Mr. Roger Cox officiating. Burial followed at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
