Pickens man charged with armed robbery
EASLEY – A Pickens man is facing charges of armed robbery after police say they believe he robbed a convenient store in Easley last Thursday.
At approximately 11:30 p.m. on June 14 the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office says, a male subject, wearing a mask, entered the Spinx store located 3785 Farrs Bridge Road in Easley.
The man held the store clerk at gunpoint and demanded she open the cash register. The clerk gave the man $52 in cash and the man fled the store according reports.
Investigators with The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office have charged Cornelius Dante Burgess, 22, of Pickens with armed robbery in the incident.
Following his arrested Burgess was incarcerated at the Pickens County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
A second suspect in this robbery is also expected to be charged and arrested. The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
