Pickens Presbyterian CDC plans fall festival
PICKENS — Pickens Presbyterian Church Child Development Center is hosting a free, fall festival on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 311 West Main Street in Pickens.
Highlights of the day’s event will include inflatables and games for the children, as well as child performances by La Dance Studio, A Tae Kwon Do demonstration, the Sweet Potato Pie Kids and Carl Woody will be performing a Magic Show and balloon art. A silent auction will take place featuring many great items.
Bluegrass music provided by PHS Blue Flame Bluegrass Band. Barbecue plates and hot dog plates will be available for purchase. Barbecue plates are $5, a one hot dog plate is $3, and a two hot dog plate is $4.
All entertainment will be free, as well as games and balloon art for the children.
Entertainment schedule: 11-11:45 a.m. Welcome/PHS Blue Flame Bluegrass Band; 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sweet Potato Pie Kids; 12:30-1 p.m. Mountain View Quartet; 1-1:30 p.m. Magic Show/Tae Kwon Do; 1:30-2 p.m. La Dance; 2-2:45 p.m. PHS Blue Flame Bluegrass Band; 2:45-3 p.m. Silent auction winners announced.
“We are very excited to offer this free event to our community,” said Karen Durham, director of the Child Development Center. “We hope everyone will bring their lawn chairs and their children out for a fun-filled day of entertainment. In addition, we are very proud of our preschool program and would love for parents to check out our facility. We have agreed to waive the registration fee for anyone who enrolls their child in our program that day.”
