Pickens Rotary Club plans Ride to the Rock cycling event

PICKENS — The Pickens Rotary Club has set the date for the second annual Ride to the Rock on Saturday, Sept. 13, beginning at 8 a.m. in the Pickens  Presbyterian Church parking lot.

Cyclists can choose between a 40k, 60k or 100k course, all of which are challenging courses that will take riders through historic Pickens County, including scenic Highway 11. The rides are fully supported with SAG vehicles and rest stops.

Participants in the Ride to the Rock will receive a complimentary T-shirt for those who pre-register, and a post-ride meal. Registration for the ride is $35 per rider before Sept. 1 and $40 after that date. For more information or to register, go to www.Go-GreenEvents.com/RideToRock. The Ride to the Rock is a fundraising cycling event presented by the Pickens Rotary Club to raise funds for many club projects, including the Book Flood Project to provide books to all 4K classes in Pickens County and to fund a water project in El Salvador. The Pickens Rotary Club’s mission is to serve the local community and disadvantaged people throughout the world.
