S.C. District 1 drops Central East Maui to keep title hopes afloat

EASLEY —After letting a six run lead slip away to force extra innings, S.C. District 1 seemed to have lost all of the momentum they built early on against Western regional champion Central East Maui on Tuesday afternoon.

However, for the second time in the tournament, District 1 was able to pull it out in extra innings behind a career day from Kaleb Owens.  In addition to bringing home five runs in the batter’s box, Owens also scored the game-winning run in the top of the ninth after coming home on bloop single by Cole Davis
