School board OKs calendar

EASLEY — Although the COVID-19 pandemic could have the final say, the Pickens County School Board voted 5-2 last week to approve the 2021-22 calendar, in which students will start school Aug. 3 and end May 26.
Board members Phillip Bowers and Karla Kelley opposed the calendar. An amended motion by Bowers to table a vote until this month failed for lack of a second.
District spokesman John Eby told the board that feedback from parents, teachers and others following a survey last fall
