SDPC names top teachers and support employees
COUNTY — The School District of Pickens County has honored more than 50 employees as its teachers and support employees of the year.
District officials announced the 2014-15 awards last week.
The winners from each individual school and department will now be considered for the district’s overall teacher of the year and support employee of the year awards, which will be announced at the district’s back-to-school event on Aug. 15.
Current district teacher of the year Jan Burroughs and support employee of the year Pauline Blackston will chair a committee over the summer to select their successors. The committee will interview the top four candidates, known as honor roll teachers and support employees, to decide the winners.
